If you want to learn more about the history of the game and it's development, Blizzard has a couple of documentaries on it, one of which I think is called Looking for Group or something like that? I forgot... If you want to learn about WoW lore however, there are a bunch of KZbinrs out there that can definitely help you in getting started. I'd personally recommend watching Nobbel87, as well as Platinum WoW. They're both very informative. As for personal experiences, I'd recommend reading the WoW Chronicle, maybe the WoW Ultimate Visual Guide if you want some old lore recaps, the Grimoire of the Shadowlands and Beyond (If you want a Cosmic understanding of Death and whatnot), as well as the other books that are out there. For the comics and all, there is the Ashbringer stories, the DC published comics, etc. But the canonicity of the DC published comics are kinda weird, considering some aspects are basically just not the game in the actual lore, like Me'dan for example. There are a LOT of things out there that can help out. Hopefully these examples are a good enough start. If you want to START reading the books, I'd first recommend reading the Last Guardian, Lord of the Clans, Rise of the Horde, and the WoTA Trilogy books. They're all such amazing reads.

Heard about it but it didn't happen on my server at the time. I played alpha and beta with my lock and we used to pull Lord Banehollow from Felwood to Crossroads with about 6 other locks. Then we would summon a Doomguard and all our infernals and then release them. Back then they would not despawn and go back to their elite status. Banehollow would sleep everyone while the doomguard would slow any who tried to escape while the infernals mopped up. Always took several large coordinated groups to clear them out. The town would be locked down for hours. As for the Corrupted Blood event I WAS there lol. The interesting part is that people were actively trying to spread the plague to the entire game world. I eventually escaped the cities and learned to stay in the farthest zones using small camps that had a couple of NPCs, you know the ones that sell basic food and weapons as a place to operate out of until the devs patched it. Anyone with a pet kept trying to keep the curse on it and start it back up again. Devs FINALLY patched it out but the CDC took an interest in it and studied the event end to end. There were skeletons littered in every part of the world. Made Kazzak look like a joke. The idea was sparked by the first person to take the living bomb out of Molten Core, a female gnome warlock. Got the living bomb on her pet and she dismissed it and took it to the auction house in Iron Forge and it exploded and killed everyone in a small radius from the AH. The hattari blood curse from ZG was just the next iteration.

Besides the Kazzak pull and the corrupted blood plague, there were also the Vaelstrasz bombs. Debuff that caused players to explode and die in a raid fight for massive damage also sometimes went onto pets. Hunters (again!) could take advantage of this by unsummoning their pets, wandering to a nearby auction hall or other crowded place, and resummoning their still tricking feline companion. Skeletons everywhere.

I remember, on Aerie Peak US, back during _The Burning Crusade,_ someone managed to drag Varedis (the Illidari Demon Hunter) from outside the Black Temple aaall the way over to Shattrath City. I probably got there too late to see much chaos, but someone got him stuck in an eternal fight with A'dal, the Naaru. If anyone was curious, Varedis has a "shadow form" that makes him invincible unless a quest-related trinket was used on him. A'dal was either invincible, too, or untouchable. So, yeah. I remember seeing Teremus take out Booty Bay and Stormwind on our server countless times. I even kited him all the way to Stormwind once but that was mostly because I wanted his drops and figured the guards would eventually help me finish it off. You should do a video surrounding Oondasta's initial release in MoP. It's another one of those mass extinction events in WoW and was frankly one of the most enjoyable times I've had playing the game. For the uninitiated, Oondasta was a world boss on the new Isle of Giants that had some brutal AoE abilities, and it wasn't uncommon for 4 full raid groups to rush in and immediately be wiped.

We used to do something like this in Everquest. One of the zones off Freeport lead to a desert and not far into the zone on the far right were a few huts and some much higher than the other critters in the areas level orcs. They didn't roam and if you didn't go near them it wasn't an issue - but all too often some n00b walks too close and wham. In EQ I had a couple some pals - 1 was an enchanter and the other was a druid. The enchanter would charm one of the orcs and we would pull it - buff it all to hell with 50th level buffs - give it 50th lvl trash as gear and then kite it back near home and end the charm. We would then announce we had created an event and that one of the orcs was much tougher than the others and would be a challenge BUT - there was a reward. When charmed we would load it up with tons and tons of gold - since @ 50th it was kind of a waste for us and stack a bunch of 50th lvl trash gear. Needless to say people at first freaked out - but after a bit several worked together to drop it. When they looted the body people lost their minds at the stuff we had left. So from time to time when we were done farming high-level areas for components we would come back and load one of the orcs of to allow others to have some fun. Yes - a GM did come - but we told them we were not leaving till it was killed and if people had not been able to kill it we would have.

I had a feeling it was about This fella...Kazzak's casual strolls in SW were a thing to witness.

A world boss invading a main city like that should be an event that happens often in the game it would make it all the more amazing

Funny how when I first played WoW I was in high school, connected while both catastrophic events were taking place (Blood Plague and Kazzak) but as I was a very casual player at mid level I just went "Meh I keep dying for no reason it sucks, I'll play later", basically playing through massive events of WoW history for 5 to 10 minutes total. I realized just how huge these things were much much later.

I recall something similar happening in Cataclysm where Jaina Proudmoore got kited to Orgrimmar. Not sure if the video's still up but it shows even during then it was still possible too.

Windshearing the dragons in Caverns of time to drag them to Org. Or the cleaner. Bringing them to Thrall was my pastime, loved it.

I was a small child when this event happened and I remember vividly my mom screaming at her screen because Kazak targeted her tank. Good times.

I remember playing back in 2005 and kazzak rampaging through the city. It was complete chaos as his volley spell one shotted pretty much anyone who was near him. Wish wow would being something like that in game instead of players having to force it.

Yah, my cousin and I were a hunter and Druid and pulled world bosses to org. So much fun lol. Miss vanilla times like this when everything was new and being done for the first times. My cousin did the plague one as well with a dismissed pet one time, org was decimated.

My dad was in the same guild as one of the hunters who pulled Kazzik to storm wind, the guy was called Cookiemonster and was even mentoring my dad on how to play hunter. When a GM finally stepped in they told him they would get banned if they tried it again.
