I’ve learnt so much from listening to Dr Aseem over the last year or so. I was put on statins 4 years ago age 60 due to high cholesterol, (no discussion about other health factors, just that my LDL needed reducing because of the risks) but I had a lot of muscle aches so stopped them after 6 months, having first reduced the dose as suggested by my GP. She was keen for me to stay on them but I decided not to, which she supported. Incidentally she reckoned that about 20% of the patients in the practice on statins experienced muscle aches etc. Over the last year I’ve massively reduced UPF, ditched all low fat items & seed oils, use EVOO regularly, increased plant diversity for my gut health but still eat meat, fish, eggs & dairy. I also try to have at least 14 hours with no food every day & I’ve lost 20 lbs so am now a healthy weight for my height. It’s been much easier than I expected to make these changes & at 64 I’m happy to be on no prescription medication. I feel much more educated about all aspects of health so I can make informed choices going forward. Thanks!

Everything about this podcast makes complete sense. In today's society where doctors appear to be too time-stressed to diagnose efficiently, we need more information about popular medication and its efficiency on the individual. Thanks Bobby and Dr Aseem.

I don't start my health coaching course till November but had to watch this as someone who was told i had high cholesterol yet no risk factors other than my ldl was raised slightly. I have a healthy lifestyle and made even more changes yet every month im pestered to go on statins. This has clarified what i researched. Thank you for this Bobby and Dr Aseem 🙏 x

Great post. My ldl is elevated..3.8 and as it 'needs' to be under 3 it triggered a GP call. All my lipid ratios are 'good' or 'excellent' and my Qrisk is 3.3%. Fortunately my GP is very holistic in his approach, and I am well read on the subject, so statins not considered as an intervention. Instead it's keep doing what you are doing - 60 mins of exercise daily, very healthy eating, good stress management etc and re test in 2 years. I'll take that as a result! I find it amazing and a bit frustrating that several of my friends who don't exercise, eat processed food and have BMIs of 30, all have 'perfect' cholesterol numbers and aren't advised to make any lifestyle changes by their GPs!

An important conversation, we need to be openly talking about these things so people can be informed. We must look towards educating and supporting others on how to be healthy.

I've read that stress causes the metabolic transformation of any healthy food into glucose ! So the body functions as If the person was eating only sugar or carbohydrates, even when he/she ate for example : proteins (healthy eggs or meat) or fats ( like butter ) !!! 🤔

Luckily UK government implemented a strong measure against vaccination of pregnant women and those who are breast-feeding their babies ! I don't know how many victims were before this wonderful measure was taken !

Great conversation - thank you both. My employer is currently strongly encouraging all staff to have a flu jab, through reimbursing the costs and regular related communications. My question is: do the same principles for the covid jab apply for the flu jab, i.e. will the jab prevent transmission, and should it be a question of individual risk vs benefits?

Employers have no right to influence such decisions. They do so purely for their self interest. To reduce sick leave. Is it in your contract you must take any vaccine? No.

I believed Aseem followed him ,then read his latest paper on covid , such a bad article as regards science paper . I expected more . As an osteopath I agree with what he says but it's about the messenger not the message

I understand the impact to audience , however if you take up the stance of scientific method with open criticism of what you consider “ the establishment” then the requirements are greater to support your postulate .
