A cataract is a medical condition that affects the eye. It refers to the clouding of the eye's natural lens, which is located behind the iris and the pupil. However, as a person ages, the proteins in the lens can break down and clump together, causing the lens to become cloudy. This clouding of the lens is known as a cataract.
Cataracts can develop slowly over time and are a common age-related condition. They can also be caused or accelerated by factors such as diabetes, smoking, excessive exposure to ultraviolet radiation, and certain medications.

कैटरैक्ट (Cataract) एक आँख की रोग होता है जिसमें आँख के लेंस का पारदर्शी हिस्सा (लेंस) धुंदला या अदृश्य हो जाता है। यह आँख की दृश्यता को कमजोर कर देता है और व्यक्ति को चीजों को सही तरीके से देखने में कठिनाइयाँ पैदा कर सकता है।
