He reads the Greek New Testament. There are many poor translations out there (nothing's been attacked more then the word of God). That's why people are confused, translations tailor to culture, and agendas, rather then truth. Here's the differences: First, there's the Texus Receptus, which chose the best manuscripts of older version of the Greek NT. Second, the Nestle Allen is where most bibles are translated from. It utilizes other manuscripts and leaves out many sentences. He has a Messianic Greek (he sells a bible on his website, that's an accurate translater). He also has an instructional video on his website on, which bible to read from, if your reading it properly....etc. Most don't. To make it simple, if you go for any regular off the store bible, get the K.J.V. There's 29, and counting, translations. So many bibles, like the NIV, translate it for you and leave out very significant original information. Stay away from it !! I always listen to Jewish Drs and teachers because they study, as written, from the original language and understand it in ways most Christians don't.

🤔 Special pleading to the ignorance of reading Zechariah under the context and influence of the gospels 🥺 The book of Zechariah was written c. 520-518BC during the exile to Babylon. Zechariah’s writings would pertain to the plundering of Israel by Babylon , the events at the time, and the rebuilding of the temple into monotheism. It is laughable to assert “out of its own context” that Zechariah chapter 11 is a foreshadowing of the 2nd temple destruction c. 570 years later by Titus.

Yes but it’s hard to deny that beyond it’s own context, Zechariah is pointing to a future, full redemption for Israel and restoration of the temple. He references the 586 destruction many times but it is a warning as well that a second exile and destruction of Jerusalem will come if they do not heed Zechariah’s warnings and visions. Based on chapter 12 it seems Zechariah throws in the towel and the New Testament references his death between the altar and sanctuary. So we can assume the Temple was somewhat reconstructed as per Zechariah’s instruction but his warnings were not heeded as he became a martyr. Other chapters are easier to find the context without leaping to the prophetic but 11 holds many New Testament references. So either NT writers were taking Zechariah out of context here or there is validity to its connection to messiah Yeshua.

@@lightofeden NO ... “beyond its context” is just another word for “out-of-context”. Claiming a foreshadowing is just an excuse to wrongfully justify taking it out of context. It’s easy to get confused, there are two different Zechariah in the Bible. It clearly refers to Zechariah, the son of Berechiah, not the messiah.

@@chosenskeptic5319 why would Zechariah bother warning of a destruction that took place 70 years prior? 11 and 12 seem to promise a Shepard, Zechariah ? But ultimately he “failed” because ezra had to bring religious revival some 90 years later
@chosenskeptic5319
@chosenskeptic5319 3 жыл бұрын
@@lightofeden the book of Zechariah was written at a much later date, long after the first temple destruction in c. 597BC, that’s why. Knowing when the book of Zechariah was written (520-518BC) is key to understanding why it is not a foreshadowing of prophecy.
@lightofeden
@lightofeden 3 жыл бұрын
@@chosenskeptic5319 again I ask, why would he warn of destruction when it happened already, why promise the final redemption in the context of the Zechariah’s time when that return of the exiles will pale in comparison to the return when YHWH comes to reign as King?

Israel is not a country. Israel is the 12 tribes and most of them r in exiles. God is going to bring good shepherds to them.
