I can not begin to tell how much your book "Managing Emotional Mayhem" has meant to me. It has changed the way I see every relationship, the way I feel and react to them. As a Mother it has made me better. As a Director in a Early Childhood Center it has made me more understanding to the needs of the [Children], Staff, and Parents. I am learning to handle Emotional Mayhem. Thank you for giving of yourself, your time, and for your humor. You are like a breath of sunshine.

It has been my honor to be coached by Jessica Shields Flowers. She has awaken my senses. She is so passionate about Conscious Discipline. I have to be honest when I sat down in our first class I had never heard of Conscious Discipline and was not a believer. It did not take long for that to change. Before that class ended I knew I was going to be better because of it. Yet still the more I learn the more I want to know. I see it working in the lives around me each day. I wish you well.

I literally woke up one morning to my hamster dying and it was so sad. She was just laying their stuff and frozen. And before that she had babies and one of the baby hamsters was dead and she kept trying to bury it. I can’t remember exactly what my parents did, but I know they were sad. The only thing I remember is that we buried them and made a little tombstone. 😢

Seems over simplified. My Dad was nice to me when my cat died, but he's still a dick. It is more like, care for animals and supposedly sympathetic behaviour, is used as a lure, and a cover for the emotional control that they have you under.

Marmamarquess this sounds weird. Who has what under emotional control?

Jason Dyer A parent, close guardian, friend or partner who is a narcissistic manipulator. There is a lot about this on KZbin. You can be made to feel loved, cared for, doted on lucky whatever, but the truth is different. People with low self esteem and victim mentalities, often have excessive guilt and shame. This is linked to what their parents never did for them, (or did wrong) and the subsequent traumas, and how they continue to mess up their 'loved one's' life.

Marmamarquess so everyone is faking it and no one truly loves? It's all just shades of control? Now thatc sounds like paranoia and narcissism.

Certainly it can make me wonder what the truth of human nature is, and life can seem lonely and somewhat depressing. But there is reason for hope. Much of it has to do with problems passed down the generations in some families. Some of it is because not everyone is what they seem, and they are incapable of true feelings of compassion. But there are ways to cope and ways to understand and spot these things better.
