I just recently gave “Cherchez Le Femme” a listen for the first time & got instantly hooked. Then I found “Sour and Sweet” and lost my mind. I just listened to their entire debut album & I think the word “masterpiece” is absolutely warranted. I love various forms of jazz and disco, so the 20’s-40’s revival disco is some of the most amazing music I’ve ever heard. I had registered that Cory’s voice reminds me a bit of Gloria Gaynor in timbre (maybe b/c of Gloria’s version of “How High The Moon”) but I realized today that she reminds me a bit of Annie Moss as well since I’ve recently gotten into vocalese. I love that you contrasted the warmth of this to Cerrone’s “Supernature”, which is another favorite. I love lots of his stuff, but Bach’s fugues drive me wild & the inclusion of those themes in “Supernature” combined w/ syncopated beats is so clean and tight. But it is very Moroder-esque in the sense that it’s fairly cold and mechanical. This is is still tight and playful but lacks the kind of oppressive nihilism even tho it explores themes like “buying things I can’t afford”, etc. I read on Wikipedia that their music centered primarily on the theme of the tragic mulatto, which seems to be true but I feel since they were trying to reflect the vibrancy & nuance of being multiracial it feels very authentic. I really love their music and was over the moon to see you had posted a remix of this when I started looking for individual tracks. I can see why you took so much time on it; so many possibilities & so much goodness you have to do it justice. Nailing the intro like that is so fun & I hope I come across more of you mixing them since you’re one of my favorite DJs. I think you’re definitely top 10, maybe even top 5 in my book (which is saying a lot when you consider you’re up there w/ John Morales, Larry Levan, Danny Krivit, Dimitri From Paris, etc.)❤️❤️❤️I even love your story about how you got into it; keep up the good work!!

I made a request to every Disco station on the internet to play "Because of you by AC soulful Symphony". They all send me back an Email saying that they can't play it because it's not on the US Disco Chart. I don't think its right. It's a Beautiful song and some people want to hear it. Back in 1976 in NYC Disco 92 WKTU would played it on their Disco92 dance party after midnight the only place you're gonna hear it now is on youtube

.....because sadly, all those fly-by night so-called "disco stations" know absolutely nothing about the music or the history. Fellow native New Yorker here, we were spooled with KTU, KISS, and BLS...

I'd never thought there was potential for a remix of sorts, and here you've reached into your box of aural colors, not perhaps to change it but to freshen it up as slightly as done here, and we're hearing it like never before, and yet still bringing all the wonderful memories from the first times! Thanks DJDCV2, wishing you and your subscribers more best of music in the coming 2018.

I sincerely wish Cory Daye had a more prolific singing career. She is pure NYC. Another NYC beautiful vocalist is Lillian Lopez of Odyssey. Their music will always be with me.

You kept the Savannah Band sound more than alive, like they kept a sound alive themselves... Congrats on that one. Have a great weekend! By the way, what happened to Evelyn 'Champagne' King's Shame Purrfection Version? Don't see it anymore???
