I will say, I have followed a “natural” doctor advice for many years. But, until I was completely willing to adhere to things I needed to do to change markers in myself, it was just spending a lot of money with minimal results. It took me 8 years unfortunately to finally kick myself in the butt and make the last final changes. Habits I was just refusing to give up. You can’t supplement or medicate yourself out of a crappy lifestyle. And at 54 as a post menopausal woman, I’m making some of my best progress. And all of this takes time and consistency.👍

Frequently I hear physicians who are advocating that diet is the root cause of the epidemic of obesity and all the metabolic diseases that follow. But when they begin to talk about the industrial complex’s complicit in promoting this epidemic, they become diplomatic and reserved and seemingly offer excuses for these industries. Saying things like, their intentions started out good or, people getting sick has created this profit generating system, as if the people controlling these industries can’t help it. I hope those docs advocating for better diet to improve health will just start calling the elephant in the room out for what it is. These industries are complicit and they know it, yet continue to produce more and create new addictive products. No one with a real voice is calling then out or taking action against those unholy industries.

It's a revolution, an awakening period. I think too much blame and accuasation directly attacking the evil industrial complexes will turn listeners away, including those who want to speak out truths. It's a slow process, just like we were led the wrong path for the last century it will take another snail pace speed to get the population on eating the proper human diet. But i surely understand your frustration.

I have given up on mds. I tell them i am on a Mediterranean diet. That makes them happy. If you look at the Mediterranean countries the diet varies a lot. It has no hard meaning. One thing: beware blood testing when doing extended fasting. My trigs are scary high and i realize now it's because I was 36 hours fasted. If you regularly do extended fasting it can hinder the triglyceride uptake while you are fasting. So you might want to eat daily for at least 21 days before you do bloodwork. My md didn't care about the high ldl until my trigs shot up.

I’d like to be perfect when it comes to health, but instead I quit my desk job for a low stress physically active one, it made a big difference. I had to prioritise my health to keep up with the physical demands. It was painful at first, used to arrive home and collapse, but I became stronger, and on my days off I was full of energy to enjoy them. I stopped being afraid of feeling discomfort and pain, I just carry on, and it passes. I cycled to work on an ebike, it warmed me up ready to work, but left me with enough energy to do the day and avoid strain injuries, so that worked out well for me. My old sofa was giving me back pain, so I bought a big fat comfy recliner chair. Now when I sit down to rest my old legs I feel like I’ve really earned it 😂 I’ve had a few weeks off to enjoy summer, and despite best intentions to remain fit I haven’t, I’m looking forward to going back to work again asap

When I was 6 years old, my appendix almost ruptured after months of misdiagnosis by multiple doctors. An ER surgery saved me. When I was 29 years old, I contracted with salmonella. Antibiotics saved me. I am very grateful of medical advancement, but at the same time, I agree with Dr. Means saying the current medicine is only focusing on treating "avoidable" chronic diseases. Consuming too much added sugar and being sedentary are personal choice, which we all know, lead to many health problems, including dementia.

There is no feedback loop for general practitioners - a surgeon gets feedback and is peer reviewed - how many of his patients died in or after operating. Aircraft engineers l/companies get feedback and peer review based on facts - how many planes crashed? General practitioners , nurses, nutritionists - there’s only a ‘kinda’ feedback loop if the GP sees the patient regularly but it’s optional. There’s no feedback loop and there’s no peer review based on facts. How many of your patients were cured by you? Shocking. Might as well go to the witchdoctor in medieval times.

Been a nurse since 1980.... wouldn't it make more sense for us to start making healthy food,. reduce the toxic load by stop making GMO foods, stop pesticides, and so much more vs getting all these lab tests...tests are nothing except measurements....it's a very bad situation...

😅I've yet to meet a doctor who appreciates an empowered patient. If you want to fix Healthcare, make doctors issue orders in writing. I'll be willing to sign their copy. This would force them to focus and keep up with the latest findings.

Why can US healthcare and the FDA not at least be held to fiduciary duty? Or sued for lack thereof... We knew what causes cancer in the 1920s with the Warburg effect!

When prepping for pregnancy, maybe add bifidobacterium infantis yogurt. See William Davis MD book Super Gut. Just a suggestion.
