I can't hate on Daisuke dancing in the background, he's so fabulous!! The video is insanely distracting anytime I play Dazzlin' Darlin on IIDX though lol. By the way, PIU has some ridiculously distracting backgrounds. Go take a look at Extravaganza. If you didn't have epilepsy prior to watching that background video, you will now. Also, Ba Be Loo Be Ra basically has a woman in a bikini with huge boobs bouncing them a the screen the entire time while shaking her hips/butt.

I'm VERY surprised to have not seen Ayakashi kakushi on this. With how the background scrolls during the song, if you have the speed modifier at anywhere past 4x, it completely messes with your eyes as the background scrolls in the same direction, and sometimes at the same speed as the notes. Total eyesore.

SuperNOVA 2 sure showed off many of the unique backgrounds at the time, but that's only the arcade. DDR Extreme 2 and DDR STR!KE are the first two DDR Console games to put in individual BG vids in each song... beautiful, yet obnoxious.

Aces for Aces is kinda distracting. I put a full session just to FC basic Aces for Aces (still pretty new to DDR but love it). The visuals is so distracting because you really want to see what that character (I call her DDR waifu for the lols) is doing. $20 later and I couldn’t even FC it. But after analyzing/practicing it and doing the steps at home. I finally watched what it was, finally quenched my curiosity, and FCed the chart the next time I went! :)

Umm... Did you just forget about Twin Bee Generation X's background? The video looks like it was made by a kindergartner on acid. Not only because it's super bright and flashy, but every animal in the video looks like it was designed and animated by a 4 y/o. Plus, it doesn't even have anything to do with Twin Bee!

honestly this is a hot take but even the worst and most distracting BG vids are better than the stupid dancing character on a stage. yeah its easy to tune out but its just plain lazy. Extreme 2/Strike has the best BG Vids in the series. perfect balance between eye popping creativity and not getting in your way. While i've never played Smooch. murmur twins is straight up distracting. Idk who thought it was a good idea to make the whole background white, and like 13 seconds of black in the middle. Twin Bees's Post SN1 BG, Holy crap the visuals are very awful with that song, It looks like someone at konami handed the dev a bunch of clip art for their Extreme classics and said "Make it animate!" I would've rejoiced if an update changed twin bee's BG back to its extreme days where it didn't look so cheap, heck Heaven is a 57 metallic grey's post SN1 BG looks less distracting by comparison because it doesn't feel nearly as cheap.
