Quite right. Thing is this understanding of certain groups being 'savage' was well understood by people in the 1970s. By the 1990s, it was 'not allowed' to treat people as such. gosh I remember touring England in the 1980s there was a great deal of social trust, you could wonder into any pub and you'd be playing darts with your new mates in no time, people didn't lock their doors, every church - the door was wide open, people were so friendly they'd invite me over for dinner (tea), they'd give me directions, tell me about local landmarks. that is the Britain I remember and I'm afraid it's gone forever. Yeah you had the odd crime, but no knifings on the streets. None.
