It is good to find a doctor that follows the SCIENCE.

It’s rare indeed as most are too scared to stray from “the guidelines”. Consequently patients receive sub optimal care. I’m 53 and believe I was metabolically unwell for at least 36 years, and at least the last 11 I had mental health issues as well. Thyroid was low for up to 51 years, likely at least 38 years. It was never acted on. Only found this out when I requested a print out of my most recent blood test (showing history as well).

Yes and hopefully the patient signs a waiver to allow the doc to deviate from the guidelines.

i was low carb for two years before i got pregnant and then failed my glucose test. stick to low carb then my hba1c was 4.0 by the end of my pregnancy. i live in Beijing where the doctors pushed me to have a planned c-section at 40 weeks because they are overly worried for emergency delivery. my cervics was at 3.2cm showing no signs of labor. then i had to fast for 12 hours before the surgery. by 8 hours in my blood sugar was 3.6 they forced me to get an iv of glucose and insulin(first time ever being on insulin) my child was born and had hypoglycemic. i believe it was caused by the iv of glucose and insulin given to me right before delivery.

Yep, unless they are actually testing ketones, don't tell your doctor you're on a ketogenic diet, tell them you're on a 'low glycaemic index Mediterranean diet'. If you're doing a wholefood ketogenic diet it's true, and you'll get a very different response from your doctor.

Prenatal coaching on the preparation for the birth process seems to be lacking to the detriment of mother and baby, resulting in medically controlled birth. Thankfully l found out about preparation for labor and birth process, had 4 natural births in the 1980's-1990's with no need for medical intervention. Birth trauma seems to be common these days. 😢

As someone with pre natal diabetes during my second pregnancy I was so angry that I managed to manage it with my diet and DESPITE that doctors kept pushing me to take insulin. But when you are testing your blood 2 hours after every meal you can see the current dietary guidelines are terrible as you watch your sugars going stupidly high making it alot worse. They still haven't fixed it since I had my youngest 5 years ago. This is disappointing and needs fixing!

Odd isn't it that all babies born are fully in ketosis and then are in danger when continuing it.

well, seems like we are still living in the stone ages. amazing any babies are born at all (healthy or not) since the food guidelines are beyond busted. 3 years prior seems like a good plan. we were outliers in conception thoughts. went super clean. whole foods. for as many months as we could. vs. probably every single one of us born in the 1960s to now .. was an accident. drunken copulation on a weekend bender would be the norm. everyone eating garbage. started to read a new book on what birth control does (during the pandemic), unfortunately that book is in storage. a whole host of reasons to choose that option with eyes wide open. HCLF .. is probably the worst possible diet. for every single outcome in western concepts of nutrition. I also had two children. both born with midwives. 1996. and. 2001. our diets were as perfect as we could figure (back then). but. both pregnancies were very different. food cravings. different. babies were both healthy, but our first had occasional seizures, which was alarming, but with both children we isolated food allergies in the infant due to breastfeeding links we made. food matters. thankfully. the literature and medics were beyond useless in that era. grains were causing the seizures in our case. still makes me wonder why they are pushed as healthy. if your bundle of joy did that. ever. you would be absolutely mortified / livid / etc. carbs, starches, UPF, seed oils, oxalates, birth defects … the entire body of lit .. needs a gigantic overhaul. what has been isolated by both the veg/an and carnivore camps. especially carnivore since 2017. our understanding is certainly still in the dark ages .. both of my daughters are now grown, so I am constantly worried they will have botched pregnancies when that time comes. a relative had a downs baby. ruined their existence. surprised they tried again. they were white trailer trash, so no surprise really. you might get lucky with a still birth. having a gimp. is a boat anchor. this is caused by a broken diet. not chance. or. luck. the wife was only mildly overweight, but lots of sugar was the norm. so many nutrient deficiencies in plant dominant circles. huge tie-in to fertility flaws. you are not conceiving. because your diet myth is wrong. in probably both parents. not just one. any diet that needs supplements. is. broken. give that up. please. the planet needs to start again .. soy oil in the studies alone. has skewed what we ‘ think we know ‘. thanks for being in my feed. definitely not a topic I normally delve into.

Referring to your relative with the downs child as tailor trash is sickening. And some other things you have said are totally out of order. When people know better they do better I know most mothers want the best for their offspring. This is good information from the Doctor and I hope more women get to hear this. Good luck to you and your daughters.
