As someone who has been cheated on, zero respect for cheaters. You can call it a "stupid mistake" all you want but that's just a cop out. It was a choice and you decided to make it. It wasn't just "one mistake" or "one decision" either. People always look at the act of cheating (especially cheaters) as the one thing they did wrong in the situation but there were far more. They flirted with you, you flirted back, you read the texts, replied, hid this from your partner the entire time, arranged a meeting, got in the car (or followed them to a room or w/e), took off your clothes and fucked. You literally had countless opportunities to stop and reconsider... to realize what you are doing is wrong on so many levels and yet you went through with it KNOWING how deeply that will hurt the person you're with. Only someone else who's been cheated on knows that kind of pain and I wouldn't wish it on anyone. Everyone has a right to be happy and if he really wanted to do this then he should of ended things with his wife first. Yeah it's good that he's being upfront and honest about it, lot of cheaters aren't even after being caught red handed but he still did one of the worst possible things you can do to someone you supposedly love. I don't know what his family life was like and the *only* excuse for cheating that I can understand is if you're being abused physically, verbally, or both by your partner. Then yeah, you'll probably seek the love/affection you desire with someone else. All that being said, I wish the best for his wife and child. I hope they (especially the wife) will recover from this.

Despite whatever had led him down that path, one of the biggest takeaways is that people were being very supportive towards him specifically. Its his wife and child that people should've been there for as well, not solely the person who may have caused the pain itself. Cheating can impact a relationship very heavily to where trust can be damaged. Whenever a child is involved as well, it makes things more challenging, especially for the child. No disrespect to him, but I definitely feel as though people were on the wrong side when they were more giving their support and care for mainly and usually only him. "We're here for you, man", "Here for you, Doc", and on-going comments like that or the ones mentioned by Cevnic. It's the fact people we're giving him their everlasting love, some acting like its a mistake we all make, and so on. Not really any support directed towards the wife and or the child who are the victims in that situation. Though, at the end of the day, its happened all the way back in 2017, so eh?
