This band is absolutely unreal. We're gonna need to start including them in the conversation for best present day American rock band. Some next level shit right here.

And constantly cast off as a shameless Beatles tribute band....They'll be the kind of band that is only appreciated down the line, like maybe a Big Star.

They are the closest thing to the Beatles (and beyond as far as progressive pop music) that America has ever produced imo

Greatest American band in many years, my favorite band since The Beatles! And they just keep pushing into more and more creative areas, so relentlessly fresh compared to most even very good modern bands.

Yikes. You should listen to way WAY more music. They are pretty good for current predictable hipsters but jeez...there has been hundreds of better bands since the fucking Beatles.

Excellent shows with Shakey Graves and Son Little 4/8-9 in Austin. Such a great band. Intensity, intelligence and talent. They kill it live. We will do it again next year. Super friendly vibe with everything going for it.

anyone have a clue why they have the string sets taped to their guitars?
@maxjohnson69178 жыл бұрын
+Mostafa Zaghloul It's probably a sponsorship contract or something, and they didn't want stickers on the gear.
@mostafazaghloul32938 жыл бұрын
that doesn't make any sense, there are plenty of other ways they could've marketed ernie ball

@plummusic1858 жыл бұрын
Maybe I'm wrong but the strings taped to the guitars are as a joke for the whole marketing shit they have to "do" for companies even though those companies give it for free at first. These guys just want to make music, and it's really good music but every little worm wants to make a buck off of something good. Scott's been wearing the same two shirts every time I've seen him, he doesn't care about that shit, he just cares you listened. No new instruments every show, no crazy visuals. Just the same amazing musicians with passion to match the fans in the rooms. I met Toby at the wiltern two years back and even after being warn out from a killer show he was more than happy to talk and I guarantee any other band as good as dr. Dog wouldn't treat their fans half as good!
@Stephen-gs1ej8 жыл бұрын
That was my first thought as well. One of the big themes of psychedelic swamp, especially badvertise. Damn if he didn't make me laugh though when I first saw it, scott's got a great sense of humor.

. . . It's a small, personal thing, but I wish their album sound was a little more like their live sound. Less over-produced. I love them, but I think a lot of their songs on album (especially Psychedelic Swamp) have too much going on which gets stripped out live and makes for a tighter, more focused sound.

starlite walker most likely because he has a sponsorship with said company. Also an opportunity for a quick string switch for his tech if one of his strings breaks.

Cheezles, Travis, get over yourself. Not everyone needs to be as wonderful as your good self at English. As long as the message gets across, then, it's okay: there is no problem, and no-one here needs any more negativity, especially for something so innocuous and non-problematic to start with. - Your comment was a year ago.. and it still resonates mean-spiritedness. Feel free to delete when you've realised how unnecessary it was.
