Dr. Dre didn't make N.W.A, Eric Wright started it all after years of Dre approaching him to invest in his music so he can leave World Class Wrecking Crew. Jimmy Iovine definitely didn't have anything to do with making N.W.A as well, he came into the picture when Suge Knight was looking for a distribution deal for The Chronic album and greeted Jerry Heller who was sent by Eric to Interscope offices to make a deal in regards to get % off any Dr. Dre production for the next 6 years. Sorry, buddy

Glad they did this interview especially the part of letting people especially kids know that blacks and whites can partner together and make this world a better place. The economics too and the potential yet largely untapped in the black culture and community. Now I understand Iovine better because I used to think he just wanted to profit off of black folks but now I know he helped build the world of a Black man

Not to miss your point, but it's not art for art sake if you intend to uplift and inspire others with it. Art for art sake would exist in a bubble of its own without effecting people.
@Will-bn9km
@Will-bn9km 4 жыл бұрын
@@rook9309 That's obviously what is intended. I'm sure Dre wants his music to sound great before releasing them so he makes sure the production is solid. But the want is for his music to inspire others, that doesn't mean he doesn't want his music to sound good
@rook9309
@rook9309 4 жыл бұрын
Will - My comment is not about that; and it’s directed to @MattyS54. We agree Dre wants people to be moved by his work in some way. We disagree on the notion of “art for art” sake and whether what Dre does falls under that scope. It doesn’t, for reason mentioned in my previous comment.
