I consider him apart of Aftermath from 1999-2002.. Restless , Man vs Machine were Aftermath albums executive produced by Dr. Dre who was all over the production. He even featured in 50 Cents In Da Club video with all the other Shady/Aftermath artists.. He was a memorable feature on Chronic 2001, Marshall Mathers LP, The Wash Soundtrack, 8 Mile Soundtrack. I don't care if the little "A" logo doesn't appear officially on the back of the album, he was Dr. Dre's guy at the time and the executive producer so he was Aftermath.

Xzibit is lucky to not come to Aftermath and still working with Dre on his album. Aftermath was like a cemetary for rappers. If Dre doesn't feel the beat you spend years without a albums. Great interview. X is underrated in my opinion. His first album is classic to me. I also worked with someone from Loud Records and she echoed X sentiment. By the end of the Loud late nineties run, which was around the time of Aftermath blowing up, they had limited resources, which is why the Dwellas last record was slept on, another classic. That said X has that street cred of being a Loud artist forever. He'd probably rather have a few more plaques tho.

Nah Xzibit was in low key industry competition with DMX when the X song dropped... I remember that well.. I've never heard a real diss track... at the time it was obvious though

Think about the amount of talent around the west coast (not just califrornia lol)/aftermath/Shady.. The line up of Dre, Snoop, Em, Cube, Xzibit, Nate Dogg, then a year or so later 50 would join.. POWERHOUSE artist all one the same side... Thats on some Avengers type stuff! Even Kurupt Quik and others dropped great projects thru this era for the west... Classic era in hip hop 99-01/02! The resurrection/resurgence of the west coast!
