Dre sent me to play bass on many, many tracks at Record One. We also used the Neve at The Backroom Studios in Burbank.

I just feel like despite having a great setup, Dre has been doing all his final mix checks on Beats because all of Snoop, Mount Westmore, and Dre's latest projects sound great on headphones but terrible on every other set of monitors. Like how pushed in the highs was Compton? Massively.

Wow he paid all that money… and now hit records are being recorded mixed and mastered in peoples bed rooms. Does Dre still produce or engineer artist anymore?.. oh well! He won’t be in the poor house any time soon!.
@kai642411 ай бұрын
It’s crazy now dude and gals be mixing and making hits on their laptops in their bedrooms. I have watched videos of hit tracks mixed on a pill speaker or tv speakers, in basements with no acoustic treatment. You don’t need these courses on acoustic training. Is it good to know ? Ya sure it is. But a good reference track can fix 99 percent of problems you are having in a untreated room. Is it suboptimal? Yes it is but you can still get the job done. Think about all the tracks that didn’t make it to the public or people hated them by these producers mixed in that room. There are a lot more that didn’t make it or not that well received by the public then there are. Make good music. Or take a risk and do something different than a track can be mixed like shit and still go viral. Example look at ghostmanes first tracks that went viral. They were mixed like shit. Didn’t matter it was different and people still loved it.

@georgetmusic Жыл бұрын
He only gutted the inside which plays a small part in the sound of the room; The structure of building contributes a-lot to the sound. The dimensions of the rooms where probably close to acoustically ideal as you can get so he wanted to keep it just update the gear.
