Dr. Drew. A real doctor unlike doctorate Phil
@cleanandgreenketo2 ай бұрын
I necer can wrap my mind around people saying Dr. phil is not a real doctor. He is not a medical doctor and has never claimed to be. He has a doctorate degree in Psych and practiced as a psychologist for many years. He does not actively practice, because he is worth over $80 million and does not want to. What's wrong with that? Dr. Drew is a medical doctor.

I can speak on the ketamine/bladder issue… this may not be 1000% accurate but the way it was explained to me is thus: if you snort ketamine and you swallow the drip, it crystallizes in your kidneys and the sharp little crystals tear up your bladder and urethra on the way out. I have a good friend who had a bladder ulcer cauterized because of this. Ouch. Spit that drip or get off drugs

I bet if you asked Drew his occupation, he’d say “physician”. The term doctor can be confusing as it simply denotes a doctorate in some educational discipline. So MD’s typically refer to themselves as physicians rather than doctors. And they typically would write their name to include their credentials at the end of their name i.e William James Bond M.D. rather than Dr. W. James Bond.

I think Steve’s point about Ozempic was that people will start getting it illegally more through “dealers” (so to speak) and using it with abandon even if not they’re overweight or are maybe even underweight. When Drew said “but how are they going to get it?”, he’s assuming the abuse of the drug will be from people with actual prescriptions.

Is it though? Does a podcast by a Jackass alumni owe you or anyone else any kind of strict, ethical parameters? People constantly harp on this lately as if Steve owes anyone any kind of apology for running his business the way he does and partnering with a sponsor that millions of people are able to enjoy responsibly and it's ludicrous. If the guy was selling nitrous cartridges or had his own strain of cannabis... I'd see your point, as it's would be relevant to his own recovery, but nah. Does it automatically mean that just because Steve had a problem with drugs and alcohol, that he can't occasionally gamble if it's something that isn't a problem for him? Anything can be an addiction, but one doesn't have to swear off the entire world just because they have a problem in other areas. If that were the case, everything from sex, to TV to food would be off limits and life would halt entirely. The guy has openly talked about issues with sex addiction and no one has anything to say about him partnering with Blue Chew.... Less convenient to fit a smear narrative, I guess. Ya'll are seriously looking for anything to be upset about.

I would love to hear a discussion between Steve O and any given rational skeptic with a degree in neurology and/or neuropsychology have a conversation about consciousness and whether it's a product of the brain or not. I am willing to state with certainty that it is definitely the product of having a brain. Self (Identity and awareness ) are a spectrum of things compiled together from 4 conditions (genetic, personal, environmental, and social). You change the brain you change the consciousness, if the brain was just a conduit this would not be the case considering that depending on which part of the brain gets damaged can completely change who somebody is. ALL SCIENTIFIC EVIDENCE SUGGESTS THAT CONSCIOUSNESS IS A PRODUCT OF THE BRAIN, I'm so sick of the same old debunked woo rearing it's derpy head again and again Also, sex addiction is not a thing, it was removed from the DSM V, and "addicts" are also not a thing, it's not some addict vs normie dichotomy. I appreciate Steve O's pursuit of skepticism and secularism but Dr Drew definitely ain't no guru, maybe as a physician but beyond what a physician does, I hear a lot of wooey biases, someone who just doesn't want to let go of believing in a soul because feelings

I remember listening to Loveline w Drew and Carolla years back. They were thoughtful, listened well, gave great advice and really helped kids. As the show went on for years, they both stopped really listening, they became judgemental, rushed to conclusions, and most of all, stopped hearing what the callers were saying. You could hear them misunderstand and blow the caller off. It was disheartening to say the least. Carolla is still funny, but has gone full " get off my lawn/back in my day" which is stunningly boring. And now Drew has settled into grifter/quack/career chaser. Those celebrity Rehab shows were terrible publicized train-wrecks. His covid takes were just platforming people who's data etc was highly questionable, and now he's schilling for that SEO/sales funnel weight loss scam V shred. He's obv a smart guy, but he's really pushing some wack business.
