I am 43 almost 44 years old. I have been watching and listening to Dr. Drew for as long as i can remember. Bottom line is that no matter. What he says his heart and intentions are from a place of genuine goodness and compassion. So if anyone dislikes him to the point of making an effort to personally attack or threaten him. It is 100% a you problem. Not a him problem. And a strong indicator you need serious help with.

I agree 100% 👏 A lot of us grew up listening to Dr. Drew & we learned a lot from him, still do. The climate of hate these days is over the top & it's just personal outrage that gains support from strangers online, which then snowballs into "Cancel Culture." It's a crazy world, but I'm glad we have people like Dr. Drew ❤

I think at times he seems to take a firm stance before reading all the literature, which isn't malicious, but at times, it's unhelpful. He said covid was a big nothingburger and then it kicked his ass pretty badly and he had lingering symptoms like "brain fog" afterwards.

Wow Howie, loved the way you gently made the intro an educational opportunity to speak about and clarify what is and isn’t OCD and to Dr. Drew no less. As a sufferer and therapist specializing in ERP for OCD that was so cool to watch!

Dr. Drew has some great insights about insurance and psychiatric care. They will approve a pill, mostly the cheap pill even if it doesn't work, but refuse to pay the going rate for therapy sessions. He also had good insights about Covid care. I had a friend in her late 30's, she was having trouble breathing and the ER sent her home to recover and she died. If some says they are having trouble breathing isn't that a sign to admit them?

@@GUITARTIME2024 i am not a doctor, but i think with some cases maybe a panic attack could be serious/lethal, & patient could be given sedation, kind of like how (i've heard of) people who were injured in battle went into shock & died & it later turned out the initial injuries weren't in themselves lethal but the shock was.

Very thankful for Howie's work with Nocd.... When I was suffering postpartum with extreme OCD I found NOCD... deep in my OCD condition I was afraid to trust NOCD thinking it was a scam because I didn't have experience with telehealth before... turns out I have had OCD since I was a young child and just thought it was part of my ADHD. My OCD needed the specialized treatment OCD requires, which I was able to receive through NOCD. When I saw that Howie was working with NOCD, it helped legitimize their org to me and helped me break down my walls to receive treatment.

It's simple. The profit motive - catering to middlemen, insurance companies, shareholders etc- shunts all other motives into the background. Therefore by the very structure of things, what should logically be the aims/objectives/purpose of entities such as the health system, the food delivery system, the education system, the EPA, the FDA etc. are compromised and subverted to some degree, in many cases to the point of travesty. What ensues is needless grief on a substantial scale and a deep sense of malaise. The profit motive also organically defends itself by undermining and demonizing regulation. So there. Shout out to the profit motive.

As with most drs no one has all the answers, including dr Drew. I like him myself and enjoy his interviews and view’s because he seems to be very honest and conscientious of what he says. I was in the ER once and the Dr ordered a whole body MRI and when he did he found a tumor in my GI which is usually cancerous so they immediately sent me for a colonoscopy. Luckily after the biopsy there was no cancer, they did find that I had both Chrones and Ulcerative Colitis which only 17% of people have both. So I’m grateful I went along with the ER dr on the full body MRI. Which is why you NEVER take one dr’s opinion as the gospel. Still, love Dr Drew!

Drew: Chris, just tell us the symptom Chris with an s: For a long time I used to go to bed early. Sometimes, when I had put out my candle, my eyes would close so quickly that I had not even time to say “I’m going to sleep.” And half an hour later the thought that it was time to go to sleep would awaken me; I would try to put away the book which, I imagined, was still in my hands, and to blow out the light

One of the more informative and engaging episodes. Especially in the beginning. I felt like it was rushed tho. Let the guest finish their point. I think our beloved hosts should write down important questions, slide paper up so other host knows there’s a question to be asked. But then they can put that aside until the current point is being made. And then maybe more room for some humor. It’s a podcast, no shame in backtracking. Just felt wild to go thru 10 topics in 15 mins without any commentary. Reminds me of when the homies get too drunk and everyone is waiting (not listening) to passionately add their comment. Love how well the podcast has been coming together :)

Dr. Drew has said many times that we need to learn from our history, which is true! However, I've noticed his examples only including those of recent history. It's much more mind-blowing to research ancient history and its parallels to today! A few amazing modern-day historical researchers are Paul Wallis, Billy Carson (4bidden Knowledge on YT), and Matthew LaCroix. Happy researching 🤗 Thank you guys for all you do and much love to you and your family's 🤗💗

Or else, I'm totally not in a good way. Fortunately, most of my coworkers know this and fall into place. Some say I'm controlling, but actually, I hate control. But, I do love routine and rhythm. A certain order is in need in my job and life, for sure.

The first one they were trying to say that the juror talked to outside influence during the trial and the second one they said he was a Nazi. The first one was pretty dumb, the second one is unhinged.

Dr. Drew has become a controversial figure for some reason over the last several years- possibly in some part by proxy of who he calls friends- but I still really respect him more than any other famous doctor because of the work I know he actually does in the field of medicine especially with addictions. And I respect the questions he asks and his want to maintain rational thinking. I also always enjoy listening to him talk to just about anyone which is probably why I've listened to him talk for 3 decades or so. Its good to see him on Howie's podcast. You always know it's going to be an interesting conversation when Dr Drew is around.
