I was never on this bandwagon and never felt I needed it. In my late 40s this is absolutely necessary. However I am not having a lot of takers with the women around me. It doesn’t bother me, I deeply support people eating what they think best for them. But then I have to bite my tongue as the perimenopause and menopause convos ensue

My Doc didn't even tell me to lose weight when I had high blood pressure. He prescribed a medication and didn't even tell me that changing my diet would do the same thing .I went low carb and no sugar , with weight loss and my blood pressure gradually normalised .I think Doctors should have to , at least, explain that medications are only one way of improving metabolic conditions .

I always thought of mainstream drs being very.unhappy with their job, no job joy i call it, because how can you ever be happy woth your job if you don't search for the root of a medical problem😂. Almost as if they are clever yes, by all means, of high intelligence, but trained to act stupid..

Was told by my cardiologist and GI doctor that "Keto/Low Carb is bad for you. You need to stop that or you'll get sick". So I stopped LCHF back in February. Weight immediately went up. FSBS went up. Got placed on CGM. Got placed on Metformin. Another BP med added. Joints ache. Heartburn back. Having a hard time even walking on treadmill. Not sleeping. As of today, I'm going back to Keto. Experiment over.

I met Dr Westman at the 2016 Low Carb Conference(sat next to him at one of the presentations). We didn’t talk really but what he presents here-evidence based!!-and his lectures are vital to understanding what is happening to everyone. 50% or more of us in the USA are obese. I delved into this in 2015 becfause I just didn’t understand why I couldnt lose that last 15lbs after YEARS of exercising. I ate high carbs low fat. This is so important . I know many trim athletic peole who are getting prediabetic as well.

I changed to low carb because I was diagnosed with diabetes in Oct 2021. After only 2 months on low carb I had to reduce my BP drug by half. Another 2 months later I again had to reduce it by half. So I've gone from 10mg down to 2.5mg, which I have decided to stay on because I have back issues which cause almost permanent low grade discomfort which I think is causing my BP to be a bit higher than normal. And the diabetes was remitted in only 3 months.!!! My waist measurement went from 44" to 37" and I lost weight without even trying. And I am no longer a slave to food.

I have been doing a lot of research and I have decided to not do it the way I was doing it. Reading his books and if you want to loose fat/weight don't add a lot of additional fat. Omit cheese/nuts and know your trigger foods. I am looking forward to completing the induction program as many times as I need then to the next phase and lifetime maintenance.

Thank you for all your work Dr Westman. I did come to keto through your video explaining keto diet in your clinic. With that knowledge I was able to reach 5 family members in definite need of this info. I had them all watch it. All of us achieved amazing 30-110 pound weight loss results. Unfortunately most of us returned to old ways of eating and slowly gained back most if not all the weight. However, like in AA - once the malady is revealed you can’t not know it! 🤔 I am happy to report that myself and all the family members have picked themselves back up and are making their way to a much healthier way of eating and lifestyle again based on a low carb diet👍

I have increased my carbs but I'm not getting anywhere with my health issues that led me to this. I was just looking for guidance eating low carb. I disagree slightly about what “fixes” The health conditions you mentioned. I think it’s the SAD diet that caused the problem with pre diabetes/T2/insulin resistance and those are the conditions that caused the weight problem. The weight gain, in my understanding, is a symptom. You lose weight because you’re fixing the insulin problem, you’re not fixing the insulin problem by losing weight.

Talking about the argument of it being sustainable. They then talk about what people “should do” for healthy eating clearly that is NOT sustainable and all you have to do is look at people in the grocery store! This way of eating saved my life!!!

❤ great overview. Question about Lifeline Screening. Is this the best screening for vascular/artery disease/blockages? What does it cost? Also, I'm guessing it's not covered by insurance?

I did Lifeline Screening. Cost about $260 for a bunch of tests. It let me realize I needed to do something drastic. My cholesterol was perfect on statins, but I felt miserable. My inflammation was through the roof. Weaned myself off of the statins and started carnivore the next day. Never felt better.

@@catchristo9406ugh, I am plagued with inflammation, arthritis, fibromyalgia, connective tissue disease. I am a nurse for 38 years and I am opening my eyes to keto and then carnivore eventually. I am struggling with the change of mindset as my gosh it has been bored into our minds about low fat, blah blah blah. I am ADDICTED to sugar, no doubt! 😢

@@catchristo9406also specialized in cardiovascular nursing the last ten years and you will NEVER get me to take a statin. So glad you are off of yours. Congrats!

What clinical trials do they have showing remission of Type 2, or anything for that matter? I think you’ll be surprised just how sparse. You never really hear them talking much about A1c, glucose spikes, or all those that have failed to control there sugars. Really. It’s true.

Hi! I’m just new to low carb lifestyle and I’ve seen huge improvements. Though i noticed my sleep gets interrupted lately. Anyone who can relate? Any suggestions? Thanks!
