Dr. Fauci, Sen. Rand Paul have heated exchange over mask-wearing after receiving vaccine

Dr. Anthony Fauci, chief medical advisor to U.S. President Joe Biden got into a heated exchange with Republican Sen. Rand Paul on Thursday when the latter argued people who have been vaccinated or recovered from COVID-19 should not be forced to wear masks.
Fauci pushed back saying he disagreed with Paul and cited information about several variants that are in the country that the vaccines may not provide adequate protection from.
"Let me just state for the record that masks are not theatre, masks are protective," he said before Paul interrupted arguing they were theatre.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention said fully vaccinated people should continue to follow many precautions such as avoiding big in-person gatherings and wearing masks when visiting with unvaccinated people from multiple households.
Vaccinated people can, however, visit with one unvaccinated individual, such as grandparents being able to visit their grandchildren from one household. People can also meet with small groups without masks or physical distancing if everyone has been fully vaccinated.

I've got a friend who's a hardcore conservative Republican who wouldn't wear the mask properly and would hangout with random people. He caught the c virus and was sick for over a month. His lungs filled up with fluid and he had terrible headaches. He felt pain throughout his body and on his fingers and toes. Food tasted like medicine and he said it was the worst feeling ever. He even went and said that he would not wish that upon his enemies. He almost died. He was given the okay with work but told me that he struggles to breath and does not feel the same. He lost weight and looks worried. I also got other stories too. My point is that this virus is real. Yes, I do believe the Left is using this as an opportunity to manipulate people among other things. Protect yourself.

My stepmother almost died last month of pneumonia, she was in hospital for a month but survived (she tested negative for COVID-19 though). My point is this is nothing new. The difference is we have years of evidence that show seatbelts save lives. Have people died because of seatbelts? Absolutely, but the statistics show it does far more good than harm.
