The 1977-1981 Dr. Feelgood line-up was musically the magic and ultimate line-up. According to Lee himself, he once stated that Gypie was the best guitarist he ever had in his band. Phenomenal guitarist he was in the band indeed.

I was sad when Wilko left but I ended up liking Gypie more. Great British R n'B (the real stuff).

Gypie was a superb all round guitarist.Wilco was good a riffing but little else.
