@@ringostarwars4155The Reverend Billy Gibbons does exactly that.Three man band,so rhythm and lead are down to one man.If you listen to Billy and Wilko, you will hear him playing rhythm,and throwing in a lead riff,virtually at the same time without breaking his stride.

Nothing...absolutely nothing does it for me like early Feelgood. More energy and violence coming from the stage than the audience. This was the only lineup. Lee is brilliant but something died when Wilko left. Wilko will never get enough credit for his playing or his songwriting. Dr Feelgood were a rare - never to be repeated - moment in time where everything came together.

Agree 💯 The Origional Dr Feelgood were unmatchable when Wilko left they lost that wonderful unique sound that Wilko created with his choppy rythym/lead guitar, nothing against Gypie Mayo or Steve Welwyn both great guitarists but post Wilko, they became just another rock and roll band.

Watched Feelgood in '75 at Liverpool Stadium [old boxing arena]. Atmosphere was like being on the Kop at Anfield - every time Wilko started a solo EVERYONE was stood up on the seat, fist in air, with Brilleaux wiping brow & spitting on the stage, Figure being a drumming psychopath, Sparko in his flairs pacing up & down.. Still punch the air when I think about it. [incidentally, you would side with Roxette wouldn't you if she'd been going out with one of those lunatics..]

A very likable man, but when needed he could really scare people of. Saw them in 78 in a small club were a bunch of punk rockers thought it was a good idea to spit on the band😮 Lee stretched over the stage and said "spit one more time and that's the last thing you'll do!" Everything was hunky dory after that. And it was a great gig! 30 people in the crowd! Still they gave it all! And by the way, the lineup with Gypie ruled over all the others! Remember, this was done at the height of "prog rock". They--especially Wilko-- were influential to people like Joe Strummer of The Clash. In fact Joe said that Wilko was the reason he used Telecasters. So, if not for Wilko, we wouldn't have the Tele riff for "London Calling, "Rock the Casbah", etc.

To any teenagers reading this, a 'pub' is a place where people used to go to drink alcohol (not to be confused with energy drinks), hold things called conversations and enjoy themselves before mobiles, tablets and playstations came along, most have now become flats, estate agents or take-away pizza shops...a 'band' consists of about four people (known as 'members') who play in-stru-ments that are plugged into big boxes with speakers in them (similar to your headphones but bigger)..these are known as amp-li-fiers.....

Patronising much?
@Lloyd188510 жыл бұрын
As much as possible ;)
@danfernandes560710 жыл бұрын
Pine Mash I fail to see who you're aiming your patronising at. Teenagers tend to be either not old enough to go to pubs or young enough to go clubbing without looking entirely out of place, unlike old fogeys such as yourself; reason being old timers such as yourself can't much last past midnight where for us younger brethren we see that as the night just beginning. I fail to see the correlation between Playstation's and pubs? Most teenagers legally old enough do tend to go out, just they'd rather mix with people their own age than get hit on by someone three times older; or where you aiming your slander at underage teenagers, denouncing that all 14-year-olds should be in pubs "enjoying" themselves rather than play a game on their mobile? Come to think about it, I'm surprised you didn't rant more on the band aspect due to the evermore apparent correlation between pubs with bands and teenagers with mobiles. And do I need to be the one to say they are 'public-houses', seeing as we're being pedantic and all? Where is your substance?! Are you having a dig at teenagers for not drinking in pubs? Should they actually be drinking in pubs and by non-association it's somehow their fault most are closing down? Or are you criticising their lifestyle and sociological choices? Or perhaps their musical choices? What exactly is your point? Because right now, all I see is nostalgia from an old-timer whose realisation that the once vibrant fruit from the tree known as youth has fallen and is slowly rotting in the ground; bitterness consuming down to the very core.
