I loved the Hamm's Draft beer keg can of 1976. Lived in California at the time and I would go to the convenience store for lunch and buy a burrito and a can of Hamm's draft. The guy in the store would warm up my burrito in the microwave, I would give him a dollar and I would get change back from my dollar. The beer was 25 cents a can.

Thanks for the video, great collection. Brings back such good memories of fishing with my Dad in Wisconsin. I remember him punching a hole in the can top with an opener. Actually, two holes for air to enter while drinking. I also loved the cartoon commercials on TV.

Hamm's is my go to beer since my supermarket got it. It is affordable (11.50$) for a 30 pack and I a genuinely good beer for a blue collar worker. I enjoyed the history of the brand, thanks for putting it on here. From the guy who refuses to buy Bud Light (Overpriced beer flavored water) its ol' Pat!

Awesome video! I just had a customer come into my shop just to give me an old Hamm's can as a gift! Pretty sweet old can that you needed the Church Key to open. Guess he found it here in the Gallatin River in Montana. It's a little beat up, but I'm stoked haha

Here is the commentary I posted under the Hamm’s beer commercial video I just watched before yours So being stuck around the house during all this mess I Livestream quite a bit and somebody said you should have a beer and I said oh I might have a beer in the house because I usually don’t have any I don’t buy beer to drink at home. I went over to the cupboard and I remembered I had a couple beers that had all been left somewhere like in my car or something. I grabbed a Bud light in the tall aluminum screw top can it was three years old and it was fine it was awesome. A few nights later I decided I’d finish the other two beers that were in there one was a six-year-old Budweiser and a 16 ounce Genny that somebody left in my Uber. They were both fabulous and that made me think about buying some more beer being stuck at this time at home a lot. So I bought a six pack of hams 16 ounces at the gas station on the way home one night. Now this beer is special to me because I got one of my very first nasty not so nasty but fun nasty beer drunks in 1971 maybe on a bicycle ride in lower Michigan called the Irish Hills tour and we got shitfaced on Hamm’s beer that we beg somebody to buy for us at the small town ha ha. My first sip of this beer which I hadn’t tasted in ages was damn this is smooth and damn good. Later on I was at the supermarket with my buddy driving so I said I’ll look for a case of beer, there was no Hamm’s available So I bought a 30 pack of PBR‘s because that’s what I buy a lot at the bars because it’s cheap when I don’t have money. Well later on in the week I was live streaming and I had a couple PBR‘s with everybody in the audience and then I went and got one of the 16oz Hamm’s And immediately I could tell this is a far better beer than PBR’s. So now I am on the hunt to find somewhere I can buy the stuff by the case because it’s a damn good beer from the north where there’s a sky blue waters Ha ha ha Cheers 🍻 PS and if you care to watch me drink a hams beer live here is my link www.pscp.tv/shockingguy/follow not every night but some nights during this crazy time we’re in stay safe out there 👍 By the way I love this collection of commercials I’ve been looking at a bunch of them since somebody told me to check them out. I don’t think they can get away with some of that music anymore times of changed Daniel

Inside the walls of a Key West Florida home, named "Frogmore Manor", was a six pack of flat top Budweiser cans. Accompanied by a church key that was carefully placed there by the carpenters that had built the home back in the 1950s. We found it, as we were meant to, in the Spring of 2006 when we remodeled the house after Hurricane Rita had damaged the property during the previous year. And that pristine six pack of beer is today sitting in a glass display case at my house along with the church key.

I hope they will. This year they brought back the 50's/60's style can.....the dark blue with the white crown that says "Hamms Beer" and the little gold trees between the points of the crown. Just bought a 30 pack today for $12. Can't beat that!

Does anyone know that approximate year the can design switched from the series 2, metallic/ enamel paint of the "Smooth and Mellow" cans of WWII, to the Preferred stock version that straddled the pre and post-IRTP labeling? Also, how about from that latter can to the Sunburst design?

So I have just rediscovered Hamm’s beer and stumbled on your video here, love the old oil cans yes I was telling somebody about that the other day in my live stream they said I don’t remember that he says you’re not as old as me I said ha ha Very cool display I will check out some more of your videos, when I moved furniture decades and decades and decades ago with mayflower Van lines in my buddies truck we moved one guy from some giant house once and he had this ungodly large beer can collection we had to load in the truck ha ha Ha thousands and thousands and thousands of cans and boxes ha ha Ha I mean he had to bring those with him🤪🤣 Did they ever make any of the cans with the two pushing buttons that was a short-lived style of can
@Ibuyoldbeer4 жыл бұрын
Yep-you are right on! That was a short period between the "stay-tab" can they have today and the old pull tab that you ripped off.Sometimes you'd cut your finger pushing those buttons in,so they got rid of them.

The Heir to the Hamm's Brewery was kidnapped in the 3'0's and was released when his ransom was paid...he said " those were a swell bunch of guys" when he was recovered. Or something like that. According to lore, the kidnappers went to get some sandwiches and beers but when they got back to the hideout saw they got something besides Hamm's, so they washed the labels off the bottles and apologized to Mr. Hamm... He was remarked to say, "doesn't it all taste the same anyway?"

Hello! Do you know about the throwback packs recently put out by Hamms in the vintage design 30 racks? I just bought one and was wondering if you already had the recent retro design.

Yes,we both live in Minnesota and were "on them" as soon as they were available! We are big fans of this retro packaging!

@@Ibuyoldbeer me too! I’m glad you have them already, funny enough the old blue can design is my favorite, so I’m really glad that’s the one they went with for the throwback packs. Anyhoo, just checking in case you didn’t so I could send one to you. Thank you! :)
