Diastasis Recti “The relationship between Diastasis recti and hernia”Diastasis recti is a separation of midline abdominal wall muscles called rectus muscles (six pack muscles). This anatomical abnormality usually happens after pregnancy but it is also associated with obesity. Patients usually present with abdominal wall bulge without any pain but some patients complain of lower back pain and abnormal posture due to weak core muscles. This condition is different from hernia. Hernia is a defect in the abdominal wall muscles but in Diastasis Recti the there is no true defect in the abdominal wall.
