Thanks. In the Q&A Irina brought up problems with mechanical damage of red blood cells due to apheresis. I think this needs a deep dive, not because I am skeptical but because we need to ferret out the conditions under which this occurs and to what degree. Separate from medical TPE, the non-profit blood bank community routinely does millions of platelet and plasma apheresis procedures a year in healthy people. Plasma donations use centrifuge and take out 800 mls (about 25% of plasma volume) if you're at least 175 lbs, less of lower wt Platelet donation takes about about 350 to 500 mls. I've done many of each last two years after switching from whole blood donation as there is an unmet medical need for platelets and plasma. Several blood panels show very good blood work, probably because I try to live healthy. MCV and RDW are good although I don't know what best markers are for RBC damage. Will look through literature and ask clinicians. In any case, there seems to be a case for using simple free donation procedures rather than the multi-thousand dollar process which Dr. Kiprov's company is gearing up to sell for rejuvenation effects. Needs more research/data.

I have the exact same question! Plasma donation at the local Red Cross should do exactly what Dr Conboy is doing. Correct? Following…
