Dr. J PROFESSIONAL 9" Portable DVD Player Review

This is a great portable DVD player. This one has a 9.5" display. It does exactly what it says, plays DVDs, but it also does more. You can connect up to a 32GB SD card or USB flash drive, and it will happily play MP3 files, display JPG images, and can also play videos (that have been specially formatted to the correct resolution in an AVI format.)
The screen tilts and swivels and can even be folded back like a tablet style. The unit will also of course play MP3s from a disc also.
Comes with a line out cable for composite. This can be connected to an in-vehicle entertainment system or external monitor. There's also an input line so the screen can be used as a composite monitor. Very versatile, it has one job to do and does it well. Speakers go nice and loud with no distortion, and a remote control, along with house and car chargers, are included.

That is really cool. I would hook a portable DVD player like that one up to my 1987 GoldStar TV.

If it's got RCA inputs for composite, you can. If not, there are RF converters.

@@jaykay18 yeah, I know. I have an RF Modulator and I like using it. I do have two portable DVD players. However, one is missing the plug ins and I got to find them sometime.

There are a million funny answers to that question. Unfortunately, because of the way the world is today, I can only give a politically correct answer, lest somebody gets offended: I don't know who he is, but you should take his advice, he's a DOCTOR after all. I think his advice is "Take 2 discs and call me in the morning." I'll be here all week...

I just found my 7 inch portable dvd player from 2004. Still works. Screen glitches sometimes. It doesn't play cds which sucks cause I have a whole bunch of phish cds and I can't use them on that.

Something must be wrong with the laser assembly, you can try cleaning it.

@@jaykay18 I looked up some info about my player and it won't read Cds unless they are in a .mp3 format. I have to go back and convert all my files to that format. My DVD player is so old that it doesn't recognize those formats.

@@thecolorenhancmentchannel432 I've never seen a DVD player that won't read CDs. It may exist, but every one I have ever seen can read them.

I havent used or got a portable dvd player for a while since most of my movies are digital and i just copy them to my ipod.

The screen on this is 3 times larger. You can easily burn those movies to DVD, even on an RW disc, and reuse it many times over.

My Dr J player won’t turn on anymore 😔 any recommendations how to fix would be appreciated…

Make sure you plug it in and charge it. If it still doesn't turn on, contact the manufacturer.

I don’t know how to get audio on my tv. I got the picture but the audio is still on the DVD player.

@@jaykay18 I figured it out. The new flat screens don’t have red yellow white ports like the cord it comes with.

@@BJRoyalty Not really. Before you said you had a picture. If you did, it has a composite input, and therefore should provide capability for sound as well. Or if your flat screen has a Component input, it still has an audio connection. Some of the TVs today have done away with just about everything and just give you an HDMI port and coax.

@@nl.515 Must have took a long time for him to say his name. I took Spanish for 5 years, and if there's one thing I learned, to say the same thing in Spanish has a LOT more syllables.
