@@claudiabailey5302 thank you! If he's right, you be able to debate Dr. James White. So far, I've only seen videos of Brownson in monologues and not debates! You should read the Same Sex Controversy by Dr. James White and Jeff Neil.

Jerome Reiter, can you explain why all of the denominations that have compromised on this issue are dying and/or have full blown apostatized? What about Matthew 19?

Honest question: what societies have embraced homosexuality before this time? And when in the life cycle of those nations/cultures/societies did this happen?
@mikefamm5712

How could anyone embrace a group of people they didn’t know exist? Same-sex sexual behavior was very common in the ancient world, but homosexuals are less than 2% of the population. The same-sex behavior that ALL people knew of was not at all aimed at a relationship like a heterosexual marriage (for life, in mutual service of the other and regarded as one’s own family). The kind of same-sex sexual behavior that is written about was NOT stemming from an innate condition or sexual response to one sex, but not the other, but was VERY common among higher status men with younger or lower status men. In the ancient world, common ss-behavior always predicated on status difference, the reasons would be: Malakoi: could be a boy/young male prostitute. Mostly referred to “soft” men- those who are morally weak. These people were often described as having too much sex with WOMEN. For arsenokoitai: pederastic relationships, “student-mentor” relationships, a desire for exotic and “rare” sex in exchange for the older man’s “wisdom” (social climbing and financial gain by the young/low-status partner and a display of power and influence by the older partner). These relationships were FOR “mutual” short-term benefit. Someone gets sex for pleasure and status, the other gets financial or social help. Putting mutual in quotes because, despite being a common belief at the time, semen did not pass wisdom, knowledge, or maturity. THAT’S the reason even MOTHERS “prepared” their sons to have a “mentor” (often when she was a single mother, had access to an older man, and hoped he’d help her son). All of these kinds of relationships were for some kind of social, financial, or pleasurable gain. None of these relationships ended in anything approaching “commitment”. The people who participated in ss-behavior were mostly NOT homosexuals, these people had no problem with, and even desired sex with women, sometimes they just wanted MORE than only one partner of one kind. Let’s not forget the most important distinction and reason a heterosexual man would seek sex with a YOUNGER male (remember, it was never a hairy, strong and well-off man being sought after). Sex between men is an absolutely perfect way to avoid pregnancy and illegitimate heirs. In our modern culture, these kinds of practices have been almost wiped off the face of the planet. Of course when we read the Bible, we assume that same sex behavior was occurring because of what we call “homosexuals” because that’s all we know of, when it was not at all driven by an intense drive for a life-long partner.

Of course this will never be discussed because it throws in the face of homophobes the error they believe. This is a legitimate scholar/theologian, but people rather have their itchy ears scratched by their favorite "preachers."

Dear Anonymous, I have read Matthew Vine's book and Colby Martin's book on the issue. I am still not convinced because they deny the errancy and sufficiency of the Bible. Also, I am a part of a Discord server discussing these arguments with my fellow mods. Just because someone is a legitimate scholar/theologian like Dr. James Brownson doesn't mean that they are right. There are plenty of legitimate scholars/theologians that believe that the Bible is full of errors and contradictions. Believe it or not I actually listen to a lot of revisionists, so I'm actually not interested in getting my itchy ears scratched. It's been a pleasure responding to you and have a great day!

@@cruzaderawaken9600 Don't drop a comment like this and dash just yet. Vines and Colby are progressive Christians (the reason I broke fellowship with Colby who I knew) who don't put the bible as the center of how they believe. I'm an orthodox Bible believer who makes his case only from the Word of God, as being the inerrant Word of God. You may have heard their arguments, but you haven't heard mine. I shake your hand for going the extra mile in looking at what the other side brings, you do what most won't, but I too went to all the arguments to those who believe the opposite I do on homosexuality and the Bible, I refute those arguments. You personally might not want your ears scratched by supporting what you already believe or want to believe, but you're still wrong in how you believe from real hermeneutics.

@@inYTbio_SiteLINKs2Verses_Bruv The reason why for my reply was not to dash, but to show no hostility towards you so that you didn't see my message as another nasty rebuttal on the internet, Wait, hold up, you knew and had fellowship with Colby Martin!? You got to tell me about your experience with him! I also had an exchange with him on his KZbin channel. How did you change your position? The reason why most people don't look on the revisionist side is because they are too busy with job and kids, or don't know that the revisionist position even exists. Also calling us "homophobes" isn't good constructive criticism and won't bring people into a civil conversation. Just by calling us "homophobes", I honestly didn't expect you to reply so respectfully like you did just now, I would love this conversation to continue.

@@cruzaderawaken9600 I appreciate this kindness. Big contrast to the ugly and nasty attacks I get right off the bat. I was one of the first people to promote Colby's book when he started in ministry. Without getting into personal areas, I didn't like where he was going with what at first weren't progressive views, or maybe he had them all along and straddled the fence, I really don't know at this point, but that was the end of fellowship for me though I love the man and still consider him a brother in Christ, still. At this point I don't see how people don't know about the opposite arguments of how they believe when "Gay Christianity" and progressive christian arguments are being talked about, and refuted, all over social media, books, and sites. Not taking the time to do a serious study on the verses and the arguments on both sides of this debate doesn't stop people from voicing what they personally believe on the verses. The biblical ignorance is astounding and it's just so strange how bold they are with wanting to show that ignorance with what's mostly a cursory reading of verses. I say the word "homophobe" because it fits. Is it Christ-like in speech or how Paul tells us to speak to those in the body of Christ to bring correction? No, but I really wonder if I'm dealing with believers and I know trying to correct these people in 'loving kindness' is going to be futile. They want a biblical fight? I'll bring it. Most who are affirming really don't want to engage with the anti--gay religious because they are a mean group as a rule, the fruit of how they believe with hating their gay neighbor. Though I know I won't reach these homophobic Christians, I know I'm reaching those who are reading my exchanges with them and in the process now know there are rebuttals to their arguments. I'm not boasting with saying I always win these debates.

@@inYTbio_SiteLINKs2Verses_Bruv We aren't a mean group, and we don't hate our gay neighbor. We are not scared of homosexuals; we are scared of their eternity. We have a problem with " Drag Queen Story Hour ", p0rnagraphic literature being given in public schools, and minors given puberty blockers. Most of us don't hear those type of arguments because all we get in return is "Love Is Love." I found out years later about these arguments when my former pastor confronted me with them. Do you want to hear how I got here? I am very curious as to how you see Colby Martin as brother in Christ. I highly recommend you watch videos of him from North Anchored and Dr. Sean McDowell.
