We could all pray for Jim and his family. Especially that his work is honored by the scientific community. So that the Lord is glorified in in it.

This is an amazing man - deserving of a Nobel Prize for Chemistry, and I do not say that one bit about his faith (which I admire), but I say that about his scientific discoveries.

Absolutely. He was once nominated and held a contribution in one Nobel, but I also agree that he deserves one for his discoveries individually.

@@derhafi No, that is so stupid that I won't even try to refute it. He is demonstrably and factually the best chemist in his generation, due to objective academic data, and no amount of annoyance that he produces on your insignificant life would change that fact. Anyways, here we are not talking about his philosophical background, so next time, try to split your pathetic lies anywhere else. Thanks.

@@derhafi "Faith and belief go beyond scientific evidence" I must be afraid of your delusion when facing the scientific evidence and philosophical reflection when taking into account what is the best explanation. You should check historical references to see what are the metaphysical foundations of science and simple logics to know where the evidence lead. By the way, he has always been against Darwinism Are you so uncultured to understand that a materialistic interpretation of evolution, not just without a scientific basis, but against it, must be criticised? Are you telling me that one of the best evolutionary theorists like Conway is a "liar for Jesus" because he opposes materialism as an explanation? It says it all about you. I don't know what is your moral authority or formation (it seems very poor) to go against a renamed scientist. I don't care. The only thing here is the highest level of stupidity and ignorance displayed here. Don't worry about an answer, I only try to keep hardly intelligent conversations with people I know can be intellectually prepared. Not here.

Hi dr Tour , I have seen video about your experience with Jesus. I believe you . I don’t speak about certain things because most people would not understand. I know you would . I have met him too , it’s all strange to me because I was never religious person and I was surprised that I would have received any kind of “ attention “ . I used to think that I am loosing my mind but after seeing what has happened to you I don’t feel alone anymore thank you for your bravery sharing what you have witnessed .

It makes me so happy to hear you do the work for the Lord in the environment it is needed the most today. It's heartbreaking 💔 to constantly learn of young people losing their faith when they enter higher education. May God bless you🙏🏻✝️

It is an awesome thing to see a man of science and faith, a Jewish man who knows and loves Yashua. I agreed with everything you said but I did want to expand on it a bit. I was born RC and I believed in God from as far back as I can remember, if as a young guy you had asked me, do you believe, I would have said absolutely. Catholics are baptized as babies, but when we reach the age of accountability, that is about twelve, you have the option to be confirmed or not. Most of my peers did not but I was anxious to have the opportunity to please God. To say yes, I believe. So, did I believe in my heart? I thought I did. I was often moved emotionally by the scripture. I felt as though I loved God. Certainly, if you had asked me, I would have said without equivocation that I was a believer and a Christian. I think there must be many people watching who would say the same. At fifteen I was going through a very difficult period in my life and when I couldn’t find any place, I felt comfortable, and no way to ease my distress I went for a walk to be alone and away, just away. Part of my emotional turmoil was the result of a girl for whom I had strong feelings but which were rather one sided and I ended up by her house. I realized at arriving that being there wasn’t going to help and I kept walking. There was a small park just a few houses away; it was early evening, it was empty so I wandered in. At that moment as the emotional turmoil in me was becoming a tsunami, something very odd happened. A presence came along side me, a mind beside my mind. It turned all that raw emotion into a prayer and I cried out to God. Now I recognize it was the Spirit, but at the time it was just strange. Then God answered. Everything in me hit a wall. All the emotion and self-pity became instantly silent. I thought first that somehow, I had broken my mind, that I had split my personality or done some other harm. After all its not good to hear voices. I had never been in so much distress before so maybe I had gone to far? Inwardly I pulled back, as if further emotion might be a hot stove, and I waited. A moment, half a moment; but I seemed whole. I looked around but I was alone, and I queried like a ground squirrel peeking out of its hole; ... God? Again, the voice came clear and a bit angry; Yes, you called Me? To which I was, get the ……. out of here! you mean to tell me there (really) is a God, and you can call Him, and He will answer you no ……… way!! Back to my original question; So, did I believe in my heart? That was the day my life changed, that was the day I knew God. Until that point, I had heard of Him, knew about Him, and believed in my head. He was a concepted created from text, movies, and the things I had been told. An argument with which I had no contest. Sunday morning at church, singing emotional songs and prayers that got to the ceiling, religion, but what I had not had was faith. So, I want to expand on your comment of the heart. The heart we are told in scripture, is the problem; a dead thing, wicked and deceitful, a thing we can’t know. A place were sin lives and from that place rules over us. It is the core of our being, and while we may wish to be a better person, may wish to be free of some addiction, may feel it is the intellect that rules; the truth is it’s the heart. I would contend that faith also lives there, and if we are infilled so too the Spirit. That when we say Christianity it is to this change; we are properly referring, and if it has not taken place what the person has is a said faith. I want to urge any that have not yet encountered God to seek Him while He may be found. To know Him and not just about Him. There is a lot of evidence concerning God; enough that all should believe and for this reason all are without excuse, but James said you believe God is one, you do well but even the demons do as much and tremble. To believe is step one, what comes next should not be religion, it should be you seeking Him with a humble heart. Understanding that He is the reason to be, and without Him we are already in the darkness. He is the only hope any of us have, and no treasure, no person or earthly relationship, no amount of power, will ever be enough to complete us. Its God or its oblivion, endless desire, endless hunger, endless burning with lust, endless wondering. An eternity of being alone, of loneliness even in a crowd. At times scoffers joke but what’s coming is no joke. That is what hell looks like.

Acts 7 and 8 come to mind. Christ has not called us all to become great success stories. Missionaries have died in their thousands by violence or disease or any number of things. For some of us our purpose is to suffer, that Christ might be exalted. Not all parts of the body can be the noble parts, some parts are hidden doing their essential function, this is Christ's bride.

We are called to be experts in the Word of God so that we can reach others properly. So that we don't have to listen to the words and traditions of men. If we teach God's Words without proper understanding we are teaching lies.
