Serious question: With the word being a contraction of Christ Mass, would it be appropriate to consider the tradition a vestige of the Roman church that has yet to be dealt with by reformation? So many people say, "Semper Reformanda," but nobody wants to do any reforming. BTW, as far as the incarnation goes, it's a marvelous event that should be spoken of all year round, and those glorious songs celebrating it shouldn't be relegated to the last month of the year.

One could also argue that we should retire the word "Bible" because it doesn't appear in the Bible. Rather it is derived from the Latin word bibliotech. First used in the 4th Century by Jerome. The word of God refers to itself as the "word of God" or "the scriptures". Furthermore, a thoroughly modernized translation of "the scriptures" might be just "the writings"

Actually, Christmas on Dec 25 was established by the early church earlier than the winter solstice festivities commonly referred to by modern anti-Christmas apologists. Should Christmas be celebrated? What does the Bible say? Remember 2 Timothy 3:16 says that all scripture is inspired of God and beneficial for teaching, for reproving, for setting things straight….. Christmas tree?? Jeremiah 10:1-5 says do not learn the way of the nations….for the customs of the people are a delusion……it is a tree of the forest that is cut down……they adorn it silver and gold….and fasten it with hammer and nails so it won’t fall over. What about the star of Bethlehem that is normally placed on top of the Christmas tree? This ‘miraculous’ star first led the astrologers to King Herod, who wanted to kill Jesus. After Herod, the star immediately led the astrologers straight to Jesus. After Jesus, they started back to Herod, but one of God’s angels told them to go a different way. Matthew 2:1-12 What about Santa? Are we telling false stories? 2 Timothy 4:4 1Timothy 4:7 2 Peter 1:16 1 Timothy 1:4 What about birthdays? Ecc 7:1 says that your day of death is better than your day of birth. Did you know that there are 2 places in the Bible where someone was celebrating a birthday? Phar’aoh celebrated his birthday. Was he a worshipper of God? Genesis 40:20 Herod celebrated his birthday. Was he a worshipper of God? Matthew 14:6 In both of these accounts, someone died, one of them being John the Baptist, Jesus’ own cousin. Please remember 2 Timothy 3:16.

That is the true miracle birth. The gospels were written as spiritual allegory and later literalized by lying scribes who deceitful handled the word of God. Jer 8.8 All sons who truly repent are begotten of the Fathers incorruptible seed and birthed a new creation a new Adam. The old is passed away the new heaven has come. I am shocked and disappointed that Dr. White does not have the honesty and integrity to admit that Christmas has nothing to do with declaring the truths of the Bible. By supporting Christmas, he condones the practice of Roman Catholicism and paganism. I realized when I was only 16 years old that the Scripture taught the desire of Christ for His disciples to celebrate the Lord's Supper in commemoration of His death (Nisan 14), but that there is not even a single suggestion in the New Testament that anyone celebrate His birth, especially given that the New Testament does not even identify the day He was born. Dr. White is doing the work of Satan by deceiving people into thinking that the celebration of Christmas in any form is acceptable to God. What he is doing, instead, is trying to make an agreement between the temple of God with Idols. GOD WILL NOT ALLOW ANY SUCH AGREEMENT. It proves that Dr. White cannot be depended on in standing up for the unadulterated truth. SHAME ON HIM.

He took about 60 years to give us the cannon and yet He does not mention a celebration of the incarnation. From what I have seen The Creator takes an exceeding dim view of adding to His Word. So which apostle sanctioned such an observance? It is an extra biblical holiday and as such is it not a sign of rebellion to the revealed Word? Gee God, we're sorry but you screwed up and forgot to include this in Your Word, But don't worry we'll add it since you obviously forgot something important. Food for thought.

Following the Temple and family courses would put Christ's birth during the Feast of Tabernacles when He came to "dwell (tabernacle) among us". Scripture is clear when John the Baptist was born and also clear Mary was months behind Elizabeth in pregnancy. So why not give up your man made traditions you call "holidays" and try to attach God to somehow but ignore His actual Feast Days (Holy Days) written in Scripture. Get back to the Bible and His Holy Days! Celebrate the Feast of Tabernacles, and if you wish honor His birth during that week long PARTY! And please don't forget the alcohol or you will be sent home! No Santa Claus, no flying sleighs and reindeer, no lying to your children, no high suicide rates, no elves, no Krampus, no going in debt to buy children presents, no pagan traditions like the mistle toe, the Yule log, trees, etc. Just tents, praise and worship, lots of food, lots of drink, lots of family and friends, and lots of partying! @@ProphetPX It is a Celtic symbol for the pagan triune goddess (the maiden, the mother, the crone). I know because I've studied it. Even though the best we can do is sometimes use symbols to explain G-d, He should not be defined as such. He asks us not to use symbols or images "as the pagans do", and taking a pagan symbol to explain Him is actually a bit insulting. To discuss His sovereignty with a person who has such a symbol, likening His attributes with the symbology, is an effective tool for evangelism, but to use the symbol to define an idea we still cannot fully grasp is unwise. As many times as God repeatedly says not to have anything to do with idolatry or practice the traditions of man people go out of their way to defend it. Christmas is pagan based on idolatry with the tree, Santa, and all the bs. It's based on lying, they lie to their children, some have their children pray to Santa clause and write him letters lying to little children. Gluttony, deceit, lying, idolatry, greed, and the list goes on. I still believe Jesus was born around spring when the fruits; plants, and flowers grow. We will find out one day. But I try to do something special around passover. The bible doesn't instruct us to celebrate Jesus's bday John 1:1: “In the beginning was the Word and the word was God”. Why would you discount the fact that the gods of the heathens, in which you and I both once were, are simply counterfeit to Christ, and therefore do and did share many similarities to Christianity? Why do you deny the fact that the Roman Catholic Church from which you came did indeed compromise with paganism for the sake of church membership and exceedingly great wealth and power? I strongly disagree with your lackadaisical dismissal of the importance surrounding this subject. Perhaps I simply have taken it wrong, and if so, then my hope is that you and your vast following focus soley on Jesus Christ. God bless.

That the Roman Catholic Church wrote the NT and assembled and recognized the god inspired books to include in the NT and combine the NT with the 46 OT books.

Steven, That is good that you mentioned Jeremiah 10:5. Let's study it: Jer 10:5 They [are] upright as the palm tree, but speak not: they must needs be borne, because they cannot go. Be not afraid of them; for they cannot do evil, neither also [is it] in them to do good. . No one carries around a Christmas tree. No one expects a Christmas tree to "go". No one is afraid of Christmas trees. No one expects Christmas trees to do good or evil. So we see from the Holy Bible that Jeremiah is NOT talking about Christmas trees, and IS talking about making idols from trees, as the idolatrous nations used to do.
