I am on David Sinclair's protocol. How can I find out the best dosage for rapamycin used for longevity?

She'll take her scientific caution to the grave. We are all suffering from a terminal illness which ends in certain death - no time to wait decades for endless studies, I'm going to take it.

There are several doctors in my area who prescribe rapamycin. Have talked to my functional doctor about this and - we are still talking. No doubt he is doing more research, in his wheelhouse, and we will talk again in two weeks.

Well my question is how do i...an old person...get the stuff? What you guys are doing is improving the lives of old ..very rich...persons....(whose lives are already pretty dmn good).... because they will be the only ones who can get it.

My biggest question is how does this treatments (and future treatments) affect quality of life, what i mean is does this treatments make a 75 y.o person be active again, or does it only make someone "live longer" but still be frail and weak?

Will taking Rapamycin speed up autophagy when Fasting?

I hate the term "healthy diet". There are so many different dietary patterns with proponents who claim that their diet is the best for everyone. People should be more specific when they speak of a healthy diet.

I think we can all agree to cut out refined sugar and processed food.

I'm pretty sure the donuts I was eating the other day are not healthy. Modern processed foods just suck. I should probably just cut out wheat altogether.

What is the effect of Rapamycin with diabetes and weight loss?

Has anybody told Ray Kurzweil et al. to skip the supplements for the moment because of the dearth of convincing evidence for their efficacy or against their harmfulness? 😁
@HalasterBlackCloak-u2w2 ай бұрын
It looks to me that Kurzweil is ODing on the supplements. Alpha keto-glutarate is the only supplement i'm really sold on. Even if they do work how are you going to afford them all? it's not really a good solution except for the super rich.

I assume that rapamycin has as powerful a down-regulating effect on beneficial viruses in our systems as on destructive ones? That it acts on them in a similar way as broad spectrum antibiotics act on bacteria in our bodies? If so, that could be really bad, couldn't it?

Dr. Mannick discusses this briefly in the episode -- that rapamycin can be used as an immunosuppressant because it inhibits T cell replication. What she explains is that when rapamycin is given intermittently to older populations in very specific doses, it has shown to also be useful for enhancing immune function. Researchers are still working out exactly how we can leverage mTOR inhibitors like rapamycin to promote healthy aging.

All what rapamycin do we maybe can do it safely just with fasting.That being said I appreciate respectfully the works, dedication and passion of Dr Mannick.

Ugh. I was actually looking forward to listening to this. Dr Mannick went a hair too far talking about politics when I already didn't want to hear anything more than what the title suggests. Turned off. On to the next video.

Somewhat disappointing presentation of mTOR biology. No diagrams to help people visualize the network, no discussion of Network Partners such as AMP kinase, Raptor etcetera, and no meaningful discussion of the two TOR complexes. There's also no discussion about the role that mtor has in transcription and translation and not simply autophagy, which may be critical because we know from epigenetic studies that as we age too many genes become available for transcription contributing in a sense to the burden that autophagy systems have in cellular cleanup. Although I suspect all of these things were omitted because the presenters assume that the audience was not sophisticated, these basic concepts and background actually help students absorb material. In other words, this is an instance of poor teaching methods around and about a very important subject.
