I can't get past the irony of her starting her statement by "educating" us all in how nobody has the right to judge other than Jesus, and it felt like she was saying the court had no right to judge her. Yet the reason we're all here is because SHE thought she had the right to judge who was light and dark and who had the right to live or die.

What struck me most is that she, an adulteress, picked a story when Jesus was saving the life of an adulturess. Jesus was keeping them from stoning her to death for her adultery. But no one was out here putting her to death, and her crimes were far worse. The christian Jesus cared for children. "Hers" was her wingman while she murdered two of hers, and others.

@annedavis3340

@@Pamsmith59 yes. And doctors couldn't find a reason it was happening to Tylee, and allegedly there was some suspicion among doctors that Lori was causing Tylee's condition, in Factitious Disorder Imposed Upon Another (which used to be called Munchausen's by proxy). The whole "I was there for her I was so great" ministering angel thing she did in this speech is consistent with that disorder too, in my opinion. So... Allegedly. But yes Tylee FOR SOME REASON did have that condition and spent a large quantity of time in severe pain in hospitals. Someone said Tylee once said "I can't come, my mom says I'm sick today." And that being said it's no reason for Lori to act like death was a mercy for Tylee. Horrendous. Especially IF she allegedly may have been the cause of that pain Tylee suffered. That made me so mad. I can't help wondering if Tylee was realizing that eating food from her Mother was making her sick and buying her own food from convenience stores and fast food seemed to not cause digestive issues. It is odd for a teenager to spend their own money on food. Tylee was a smart girl by all accounts and maybe she was suspicious of having illnesses that doctors couldn't figure out. I wonder when her last hospitalization was. I found a story that said her first bout was when she was 6. It would be interesting to know the dates of each one and create a timeline of what was happening when each one happened.

@@101GM8 --- Using religion (or her interpretation of it) as an excuse for murder is a very convenient way to escape reality and accountability. She believed the stories Chad told, so why don't people believe her, she wonders, when she attributes these abilities to herself. I wonder who is now reinforcing these ideas or how it is that there aren't any moments when she questions the wisdom of her choices and shows sorrow or regret. I think it’s also interesting that she says that JJ’s life was meaningful and that he “was a wonderful person who touched the lives of everyone” yet all she said about Tylee was that she was sick and in pain, that “her body didn’t work right.” She said nothing about what a great person Tylee was. That coupled with the two totally different ways they treated their bodies after their deaths says a lot to me. She valued JJ way more than she did Tylee. Exactly what I thought when the judge referred to "no history" at sentencing. So much here even with the limited evaluation data released on Lori. I understand with the overlap in Cluster B criterion (and Axis I DSM diagnostics too, for that matter) how challenging it is to definitively determine diagnoses. Her pathology goes waaaay back. She's responsible for much more than is known, I'm certain. Just for starters, multiple poisonings, likely including poor Tylee as she was growing up, as discussed on a previous HTC stream. Re: antisocial personality, I keep thinking especially about her laughing as the driver intentionally hit the cat in that joyride in her TEENS as related by cousin Megan. Makes me shudder, yet so inexplicably fascinating. I would LOVE if someday, all the evaluations could be released to you or you could conduct your own evaluations with her & present your own complete analysis that fills in gaps left by others & the legal proceedings!! Legally if he conducted his own he could absolutely not share it. It would be an enormous breach of professional ethics unless she personally signed a release for him to do so to his KZbin channel. I don't think she ever would sign such a thing, and if she did it would be so easy for someone to challenge that she wasn't in enough touch with reality to be knowingly signing that. Basically he can access whatever is released, documents, etc. He can speak with people who knew her and speculate on what things might mean. But he cannot diagnose and if he ever did that would Basically end all content about her. Maybe the defense will call him in to try to get their channel to stop talking about the case 😂 I'm happy with the current kind of stuff. If he did work with her ever the only stuff he could do is speak in highly general phrases using nothing identifiable, obfuscating everything necessary to identify (so if someone stabbed their neice it would be a cousin or something) to disguise her specific case amongst the many many patients he's had. Way less interesting than this, and it might still cost him real work, since his profession is doing these interviews. I liked the rest of your comment very much. On the issue of Killer Mom having true psychosis I go to a couple of tells. In her “allocution” she says “nobody was murdered…there was suicide, medication side affects, reaction to medications”, no reference to zombies. Had she truly believed she was “releasing” these poor inflicted people of being zombies wouldn’t she say it? She also LIES about having a near death experience, which in this cult gives the person who experiences such an event authority to see “beyond the veil”. But the most powerful testimony to me was from her former friend Audrey who said Killer Mom told her she was gullible (to believe all the bunk she was being fed) and even though it’s messy and bloody Lori COULD make herself of the mindset to kill her and chop her up. There are so many instances of both Killers Mom and Stepdad not believing what they were able to convince their followers to believe.

That is the most dangerous kind of narcissist. They are so covert. Life of the party and everyone loves them, EXCEPT their spouse and kids see them with their mask off. When you leave this type of narcissist (if married or even just a family member) everyone will think you’re crazy because they thought he/she was “the nicest guy/gal who’d do anything for them”. And they’ve been triangulating with about their spouse for years so everybody believes the non narcissistic person is crazy.

I think you are missing a trick here. Lori is a master manipulator . This not about her saying she is a great mom or being deluded. It's sticking it to Kay and Larry and the Daybell family. What is the most awful hurtful thing she can say to both families? The victims have forgiven me, so its all good (hey kay i still want my million dollars), and Tammy and I are now friends. How hurtful and painful that was for Tammys family members to hear? You notice the "tears" stop instantly as she moves from one story to another. She also did not mention Alex, the actual murderer. Why because she is keeping our attention on her and how the victims asked to die so are not victims anymore and she's a good mom! If she mentions Alex , we are back to murder.

I agree, in that her message was definitely intended to be hurtful to Kay and the Daybell family. Dr. John and Lauren didn't miss it. How does she believe the delusions to be true while also knowing she is lying about some things like saying Tammy was her friend knowing good and well that she did not know Tammy? When she said Alex can’t do anything right when he didn’t properly shoot Tammy? Like asking MG to lie and say JJ was with her knowing he wasn’t? Does she feel justified in lying for her bigger cause? Who does she expect to believe her?

Her delusions include communication with Tammy in the spirit realm. She probably thought she was communicating with Tammy before the "zombie" that took over Tammy's body was killed. Her relationship with Tammy is one of the delusions. If you believe she really believes it all.

U illustrate so well how complex and confusing she is. Dr. John and other professionals all seem to b landing on a hash/ grab-bag of disorders which all seem so relevant. Humans r complex and she's a real doozy! As much as the analytical me wants concrete answers, the real me accepts Lori Vallow is FUBAR. FUBAR plus murder equals life imprisonment. And I'm so thankful the jury ruled against her. Heartbreaking that LE cannot rule proactively to prevent these monsters from committing their harms but "Minority Report" is a fiction and so far we can only judge, fairly, in retrospect. Still, these analyses r valuable in teaching us when to RUN, if we'll listen
@kateashby3066
@kateashby3066 9 ай бұрын
I don’t think you understand what a delusion is. It means to believe “x” when “y” proves that x is not believable. It means you believe in something non-sensical. Something backwards, clearly false. If I tell you “wow that red sky is looking so awesome today” and you look up and see a blue sky with white clouds, you’re going to think “wow she’s delusional!”. Making sense? So that’s why she can believe that JJ died from a medication overdose (or whatever), meanwhile he was found with a bag over his head and duct tape- clearly murdered, and she clearly knew about it. With that being said, she’s got signs of anti-social personality disorder so she could be manipulating too. Either way she’s delusional. It’s just a different type of delusion when it’s embedded into your personality.

It reminds me of my own childhood illness, everyone that I know knew about it and can tell you random stories about it, I guess regardless does it matter if Tylee suffered the way her “monster” said she did? Even if she did hold her hair back and feel her immense suffering, she still piggy backed upon her death like it was a happy and joyous occasion bc heaven is so much better than earth, and apparently everyone in heaven is BUSY, I get Jesus and religion but Lori made that decision on where Tylee was to go, heaven is better bc Tylee was in pain and abused , it is wild to hear her impact statement and to only solidify why she did what she did, this case is absolutely one of my top ten most disturbing cases I’ve ever followed. It makes me mind blown that she doesn’t feel remorse? Do you think she will someday wake up and feel remorse or will she continue with this busy happy place that Tylee and JJ deserve? I was surprised at how fascinating people find Lori's use of the word busy when describing her departed family. This is typical in my family and community here in Utah. It gives my mother comfort to talk about my grandmother as busy in the next life or heaven and when she talks about dying she says that she will be busy in heaven. It's not a negative thing or abnormal nor even abusive as the conversation regarding Chad Daybell seemed to indicate (the way he infringed on her visits with people who came to the home and that keeping her busy was a controlling thing). Although "Put Your Shoulder to the Wheel" doesn't sound like a funeral song to me it is common to play a favorite hymn at someone's funeral and so you might play one that isn't thought of usually for funerals. Put Your Shoulder to the Wheel is commonly sung in Mormon churches and it isn't supposed to be negative or about keeping someone busy in a negative way. It means that you help. If someone's wagon got stuck, you'd put your shoulder to the wheel to help get it out of the mud. In the next life, a departed soul that has lived a good live would be helping others who have departed or those still here in this life.

Lori was raised and given the values of “anti society” by her father whom she was close to. She simulated s$x acts with her brother in front of her father for dad’s applause and enjoyment. Dad’s political view would have been considered unusual and he served time for those beliefs put into action. Yet her father was still financially successful. She learned very manipulative feminine behaviors in her family setting. I believe the sisters death was committed by her immediate family and set the tone for the death of inconvenient people in her life if they did not step away gracefully and allow her what she wanted. I believe she conspired to murder Tylee’s father, Charles Vallow, Tammy Daybell, her brother and her 2 minor children. She was a murderer long before Tammy and her 2 children.

Otherwise, she would go into a catatonic state, and an exalted being is above that. She is a user, abuser, she is malicious and cunning, and she is very aware of what goes on around her. Her statement was very scripted, and shows that she was competent during trial by referring to how No One can Judge her, and implying that she didn’t murder anyone, because accidents, suicide, and accidental overdoses can happen. This is going to be Chad’s defense, she spilled the beans. Now the Prosecutors know what BS is going to be thrown their way.

Mormons believe that after you die your “spirit” goes to a temporary holding place until Jesus comes back to Earth and you’re resurrected into your “perfect human state” for the rest of Eternity. For example, if someone is born with any kind of disability, mental, physical, whatever, when they are resurrected, they will be made perfect. So, she’s talking about JJ, Tylee and Tammy like she did them all a favour and relieved them of the challenges they’d all supposedly had here on Earth. They’re in Heaven, in perfect spirit form, (or what we’d consider the prime age of their lives - this is why JJ is tall now), just waiting for the second coming of Christ. She’s saying they’re busy, and what she means is they’re busy doing missionary work AKA trying to convert other spirits to Mormonism. Let me explain… You’ve heard about the baptisms they do for the dead, in the temples, right? Well, the Spirits who are in Heaven, who were Mormon before they died, are supposedly up there doing the work it takes to convince those who died and were not Mormon to accept the ordinances that are being performed here in the temples by the current Mormons. This is because they believe that ALL people in the history of the world should have the opportunity to hear the LDS version of word of Christ and be converted to Mormonism. (Only the Mormons have all of the truth - so they say) Those who do not accept the Mormon word of god will be destroyed when Jesus returns, hence the urgency and the reason JJ, Tylee and Tammy are being described as so busy. Lori is stating actual Mormon teachings… not making it up. She has taken all of this to the extreme - they do not tell people to murder others, but she IS using the Mormon teachings to justify her actions. We all know the story of Nephi, a so called ancient prophet in the Book of Mormon who committed murder, for a “good reason.” She thinks she is special, like him.

Even if you believe the things she says she believes, you have to know that if you live in this world, there are consequences to murder and conspiracy to commit murder. Believing in the weird stuff is not an excuse to murder. A lot of ppl who uphold the laws believe in weirdness.

But now on second thought, maybe she believed she wasn’t killing her kids but a zombie? But killing humans and zombies is still murder right? Lol

She seems to believe in all the religious ideas, but I still don't think she heard from spirits or saw Jesus. I think those stories are all lies. But maybe over time she come to believe her own lies.

I’ve read dozens of accounts on out of body experiences and NEVER have I read of someone’s spirit dropping to the floor! If I was her I would be seriously worried that my spirit\soul was heading to Hell at that point. I don’t believe she had an NDE.

I mean, I have heard of that. And I don't believe in them. So I don't think she had one. I can well believe she *disassociated* like everyone else though, it doesn't give her her own exclusive access to Jesus nor the spirit world though 🤷‍♀️🎉

Also, when I nearly died when my daughter was 17, I fought like heck…with extensive help from first life support and extensive icu dr care…to get back to her. The only thing I remember from when I started coming out of the coma was the need to be able to open my eyes and see my daughter. Again when she was 19 and an attack of repeated seizures had me aware as I slid from regaining consciousness between fits to where I could hear them discussing my GCS but couldn’t move or open my eyes or react, I heard them say ‘her GCS has slipped to 3’…and all I could think about was my daughter and not leaving her. Again I fought back with the excellent care of the Scottish NHS icu drs though my liver had suffered shock and for 4 days after I regained consciousness my liver stopped working, and I got steadily sicker…but I was quietly ‘begging’ my liver to sort itself out. After this four days, when my liver snapped back on again, and all the damage healed in six weeks. I did everything I could to support my liver because my daughter still needed me. This woman is so delusional that I think most of us cannot wrap our heads around a statement like the one she gave. I think she was allowed to ramble on with this strange statement..by the defence team, as a hope to get her declared insane’

Ya know that relief feeling Dexter talks about having after a kill? Well that's exactly how I felt when someone FINALLY pointed out how important being busy seems to be to Lori. I thought I was crazy because I haven't heard anyone else mention it! Such a relief to know I'm not alone.😅

@@cindyranelli7590a person can be both manipulative and delusional. Especially if they have NPD and a delusion disorder. That doesn’t excuse what she did tho. She chooses to be a bad person. Tons of people have delusions and aren’t evil.

When she said that JJ was an adult and everyone was happy and working. My blood started boiling and I near blew my head off when she said Tammy 'her friend'. I hope that she is haunted by spirits in her cell, for the rest of her life. I would love to hear what Janice Cox feels.

I think the woman (I cannot bear using her name) was likely present for her children's murders. I think she was the director &, given time, would have used the murders to further her delusion of grandeur. I think her new husband is a complete dupe which does not absolve him whatsoever. All the explanations of her personality fall flat with me. She is what she is.

Many thanks Lauren and John, this live was great! Is there accessible books on delusionnal personality disorder? I would be very interrested to know more about this question. A special episode or a book club around this disorder and the question of delusion would be great.

Great point about using children as props to show her own greatness. When Kay spoke about Lori sleeping on newborn JJ’s hospital floor it rubbed me wrong way. Is it just me or was it a somewhat disproportionate reaction. JJ was not a n immediate family and he had people who loved him dearly and were ready to meet all his needs. Kay broke my heart talking about new purpose and love that JJ brought to their lives as a couple. Yet here is Lori abandoning her own sickly daughter to sleep on the floor next to the baby cot, being the amazing person who throws herself at a child in need.

I agree. I think it also shows she may be a candidate for munchausens by proxy- not with JJ but the need to be important, be seen as the selfless carer and get attention and sympathy. I also think it was a disproportionate response for a child that wasn’t hers.
