Larry's story is outlined in the book "Miracle of Love", and he wrote his own book, "Sometimes Brilliant" that details his contribution (and that of his guru) in the eradication of smallpox from India. To say that Maharaj-ji played a minor role is to dismiss the depth of his 'presence' in the lives of all his devotees. Larry became a powerful force in the effort to completely eradicate smallpox from the planet. Both books are a worthy read.

"Sometimes Brilliant" may not be the greatest literature I ever read, but it is far and away the BEST BOOK I've read in memory. (67 and read a LOT) Bought and given away maybe a half dozen copies to friends. Makes you laugh, cry, think deeply and conveys just this deep, profound sense of what life runs on, and that's love.

I love the way the story is told though - because it captures the rascal nature of Mahiraji. I've never met him but when you read the stories of how he helped people it was always in this playful cheeky way. Teasing people and sometimes playing on negative ideas they have about themselves - but then twisting it and blessing them with such a kind heart and abundant grace :)
