@@kimujin6 I thought it's just with me... earlier I was talking about Neem Karoli Baba to a person from Kainchi asking him how can I connect with him like how should I initiate my meditative process and so on. I was anxious and depressed but never thought I'd cry as I've never been that way but within that conversation midway I started sobbing which has never happened ever. The person asked me not to stop and let it all out. Its a way Maharajji or the higher consciousness you can call wants to let go off the negativity or the trapped bad energy out. Somehow our higher self was pulled to this content, souls and their energies.

I hear just what you mean, except for the tears. I'm sure Ram Dass would smile knowing that someone is getting what he's saying, along with the spaces, no matter how short or long. I don't think he would want anyone to look first at his humanness when he's speaking of his beingness. He was one of our greatest human beings. I thank the Universe for him, and will for the rest of my days. As for Eckhart as well, I learn so very much from them. Blessings to everyone. XO

Made so much sense when Ram Dass said ‘The ego is part of the body and not part of us’. So true 🙏👏
@spookytwink4202 жыл бұрын
but the body is part of us or we at least work with the body is you want to look at it that way. Could apply to a body of knowledge too; that is chosen by the sprit or soul to be lived out through physical body. I think we are the whole things all levels / systems or whatever working together that we personally are at have access to though what we have experienced / learned. The soul is like drawing from the source which is another body the body of truth or knowledge that is correct and then its being manifested in physical body or form. So in conclusion the physical is what could use for improvement but simultaneously the more improved it more you understand spiritually. And the body is letterally liike sounds and voice and body language too.
@AkshaySharma-ut6rv2 жыл бұрын
@@spookytwink420 Body is an experience of ‘us’. We are one universal consciousness that is scooped out into individual bodies and minds, like spoonfuls out of an ocean, to experience itself (the universe); And then with death, it dissolves back into the ocean. That’s how Eckhart visualised it in a podcast. It’s a liberating realisation for ‘me’.
I know right? Or when he said: "The ego is rooted in..................negative.......negatives?.........uuu-uh..............stuff".
@beinghuman32252 жыл бұрын
Ego is a social institution with no physical reality. The ego is simply your symbol of yourself. Just as the word “water” is a noise that symbolizes a certain liquid without being it, so too the idea of ego symbolizes the role you play, who you are, but it is not the same as your living organism. The biggest ego trip is getting rid of your ego, and of course the joke of it all is that your ego does not exist.

Some people have commented on how frustrating it is listening to him, I could only imagine the level of spirituality he has adopted from being in a body that has its limitations in expression and dealing with it, but he has showed us how he has accepted and surrendered to this state of being with grace. I worked with Ram Dass' team and DJ Kriece on a very cool Spoken Word album in 2008, which was after his stroke. Many people "count you out" when you have a stroke, especially the media, which is so unfair. Ram Dass has worked very hard on his recovery and still has so much to share. Please, be still, be kind and just open up to listening.

Ram Dass makes sense when he says we float in an ocean of love, and being conscious of that, makes you love everything. Eckhart Toole speaks of oneness with the other, finding each other, as souls, with our presence. Recognizing yourself in the other, in this formless way, is love. Think how we all could achieve peace, by living in that spacious consciousness provided by true love. Living in grace is surrendering to allow it to emerge anytime, anywhere. Unconditioned presence to every moment.

watching with the opposite of pure joy, appreciation, etc ... that is still on the same plane but at the opposite pole, which means there hasn't been any apprehension at all. Pure observation, with none of these attributes that you're referring to, is the saving grace. The moment insight walks in following pure observation, there's only SILENCE of the MIND. When the arrow hits the target / home ... there's only [mental] SILENCE. Any agreement or disagreement, yes or no, still exists on that abject mental place which wallows forever in dualism/polarity. And where the dual plane is, God Absolute is not.

I feel like everyone already knows all of this. Some are just not aware of it, so don't practice it. This just brings those things into situations and anecdotes. I feel like the whole spiritual gig is about reminding and snapping you out of your delusions momentarily. Make you aware of it. Pretty sure that's what awareness is all about. Simply recognizing those things when they happen so you can snap in or out of it. There's something universal with truths that people just can't deny. If not, it's probably full of shit hahahah Sometimes, it's just the way people say it though that confuses other people. That's why people like great speakers so much. They just find the right way of speaking the truths. Nobody should practice what they don't believe. That's what's beautiful with Buddhism. A lot of it is really just using your common sense. Just don't call the other stuff you believe or don't Buddhist teachings... I feel like the only people who aren't ready for these lessons are only people who aren't willing to really listen and reflect on it. Or people who think everything the teachers say is going to be a reflection of pure truth, all the time. Which, nobody can do that... If they say so you should be worried of them really. That's just asking too much of anybody. Everyone is full of shit sometimes. And that's ok. Although, I don't know why they'd come here if they don't want to listen to it ahahahah If we'd all be really woke, I don't think we'd be here to start with though. You'd most likely be wherever Ram Dass is right now. But, who knows. I hope he's where he wanted to be. But damn, some part of me kinda hope he's coming back with us hahahaha

Enlightenment isn’t an idealism. It’s rooted in the core of what it means to be human. And Ram Dass fumbling his words and sounding sort of idiotic is beautiful in itself. I love these two teachers. Definitely two of the greatest teachers of my lifetime.

Yeah I found it to be richly rewarding in comedic highlights. But anybody purporting to be earnestly receiving actual meaningful information or wisdom from this medium....is practicing deception (or self-deception). People crack me up pretending like those kinds of truths can be distilled from Ram's soul to their souls via his words here. I'll skip the word salad on the menu here. I'm happy to eat my mushrooms and venture into the wilderness with my friends....who all of the sudden strike me as extremely articulate individuals.

Listening to Eckhart is teaching me how to love. How to see a person as another being made of the same things the rest of the universe is made of, and see that their own ego is not who they are. Just as mine isn't who I am, and I can start to love myself too. Really enjoyed listening to Ram Dass as well. I'm not very familiar with him but glad to be introduced to him.

Ram Dass helped me begin the path 45-years ago. The only out-in-the-open teacher I've personally met -- seminar at Double Tree Inn, Monterey, Californis circa 1976. I was telling someone how I got there when I was clapped on the shoulder from behind ---turned around to a big smiling Ram Dass, "Just like the universe reached out and grabbed you! He's popped in and out of my instruction ever since. I AM, Identity, IS the way -- the narrow gate.

I'm finding Ram Dass speaking very difficult to listen to most of the time but for me he is an extraordinary presence in the world and has given us so much to ponder and be aware of. Hie book "The Only Dance There Is" is one of my favorites and "Be Here Now" really helped open my mind.. In listening to Eckert, (having read "The Power of Now", "Stillness Speaks" and "A New Earth"), I've felt new spurts of "spiritual insight", I find when I am able to listen with my mind's heart (as I observe my mind), that is much more likely to happen. I find Eckert totally fascinating and his humor at times (from other talks) is delightful to me.

Do not let yourselves be led astray as I once was by the words of Ram Dass and other new-age teachers. They only seek to lead you away from Jesus Christ. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed. @teemuhaapala762310 жыл бұрын
briar rose And that's yours. These videos have a downside that they can make you compulsively observe your every reaction to everything and thinking that using own brain and common sense is a bad thing. Its not about getting rid of the ego. Its about learning to live with your ego. And its good its that way because a world full of "egoless over-peaceful zombies" with no personality of their own would be a very boring place.
@nealtyagi807410 жыл бұрын
Teemu Haapala Maybe not a boring place, but i understand where you are coming from, and hold much truth to what you are saying. It is the practice of mindfulness that is to observe every little thing the mind thinks, because after that comes the fixation of the daily ego speech pattern. So then you transcend. In the aspect the everything would be boring because of the world would be filled with egoless happy zombies" would seem boring because everything would be done good, government would change, money would change, everything and one would change, then as a global consciousness we would ascend to a higher state of being. For example, there would be no hesitance in saying something, because anything you say you say out of love. The ego second guesses acts of kindness because it worries that the other person, took it as an act of kindness, and thats good, to a certain extent. So many people don't do good because they second guess themselves, the mind/ego gives reasons. If there was no ego, or thought process on acts of goodness, they would just be that as they are, acts of love. The ego is a cultural system of how you run your life, and if you take that away, its just being, in the eternal present moment. There would be no wars, if there was no ego, because the ego is based of your beliefs based on a culture of where you grew up, if we transcend that, everyone would be at peace. Culture, is how you do things, your ego stems off your cultural beliefs. And the whole reason, I am telling you and the rest of the world that sees this, is because i love you. At the very basis of it. Its because my essence truly wishes for your innermost self to acknowledge this and grow and understand most, of just being. The ego is who you think you are. Essence of self is who you really are, a being, just that experiencing the human experience. I love you. No hesitation, that is the ego. Just pure love, in commutation. No underlying meanings, just talking directly to people about what you truly feel. The ego will put underlying meaning. But if you talk directly, with your truest meaning. The world(we) would transcend this reality. Much love, Namaste, Essence of self.
@robsou6410 жыл бұрын
Teemu Haapala I would not say boring, I would say 'peaceful and kind', what's wrong with that? Without ego, we would not have had all these power hungry and self-obsessed dictators going around inflicting suffering on others... that would already be a big leap forward for humanity, IMHO. Peace...
@teemuhaapala762310 жыл бұрын
Maybe. Its hard to imagine an utopia like that. For me life is challenges and happy moments between them. Ego is the thing that provides those challenges. So that means life is a process of "getting rid of the ego". Well.. I can see I contradicted myself here :D Shit happens. I thought I had more to say. Maybe I wanted to point out that ego is part of the process of life and its there for a purpose.

He made so much progress in this life, and in no way did the destruction of his body diminish his conscious experience (even if it appears that way to us watching him speak slowly and whatnot).
