Exactly what I was thinking. I can’t believe some people think she should’ve removed it anyway all because she may get bullied. I don’t think those realize how bad medical trauma can be especially how it could affect her as an adult. Also as parents we need to teach kids not to make fun of kids for being different.

Though, Dr Lee says this as if she thinks all children are the same but they’re not. Every child is different. Of coarse there’s kids who would have a hard time handling treatment at the doctors but there are kids who are better at handling it. There is a chance that the girl could be one of those kids that are able to handle treatments better and be more on the cooperative side. I think Dr Lee should’ve asked her mother about her daughter’s past experiences with visits from the doctor and dentist and getting treatments before making her final decision of to treat it now or later

My parents always convinced me to get stuff done as a little kid; Never geld me down and forced me, the result? I have no fear of doctors or procedures, bc from a young age I was aware I was being helped, even if I wasn't comfortable. Love you, Dr

Oof, I feel bad for that kid. Shes gonna get so much trauma from the bullying shes gonna get for the lump. Also, I can't believe they're censoring out the ENTIRE procedure! That's why she got so popular in the first place. Hello final season and dropping viewership rates...

When I was about 3 or 4, I slipped and split my lip open on the coffee table. I needed quite a few stitches, but when the doctor came towards me with the needle to numb me and I freaked out. I was usually good with shots, but coming towards my face set me off. He immediately backed away and talked to me for a minute about it. He said he had to do stitches and asked if it would help if I didn’t see. I agreed and he took a piece of paper and tore a hole in it to access my lip and laid it over my face so I couldn’t see. He talked to me the whole time and my mother held my hand. It ended up going really well and while I still have a scar, my lip healed evenly without a bump or a ridge and I have full control over it.

Good job 👌 I was held down kicking and screaming to remove a superficial bump on my back as a kid. Take care of it when she is older.

So instead of risking the _possibility_ of the kid being terrified of doctors, she'll be subjected to intense bullying and mockery at school, which will result in her developing intense social anxiety and probably self-image/self-esteem issues. Wow. It's better to have iatrophobia than social phobia. She should've been operated on.

How big can that bump grow in 2 years? I think it would be best to take it off now
@elenagold40462 жыл бұрын
The kid being so young could have major side effects when she gets older she can have trauma side affects that create a new bump and the procedure would be on her head where she can hear the incision and everything else in the process it’s better to wait when she’s older so the the body will react less likely to trauma and so she’s mentally prepared.

But it wasn’t dangerous and there’s no point in traumatizing her by holding her down to do it. Trust me medical trauma in kids can turn bad as an adult.
@Ipetam2 жыл бұрын
It's not worth the medical trauma. Why risk that and set her up for a difficult life health-wise? I've seen it happen and it's terrible, some people refuse to go to the doctor or dentist after having one bad experience. The bump isn't life threatening and It doesnt seme to physically bother her, so there's no reason to remove it beyond cosmetic. She will be able to get it removed in a few years, I'm guessing. And if during that time something suddenly changes there absolutely would be accommodations made to remove it for her. :)
