Those oxblood/cherry 1460's look fantastic! I have 6 pairs of Doc's. Combs 6 hole, Combs II 8 hole, 2 pair 1460 black nappa, and 2 pair 1460 Crazy Horse. Love 'em all even though none are MIE's. Broke them all in and condition with mink oil. Super comfortable to the point that they are all I wear outside of my home. At home I laze about in a pair of Birkenstocks. Mahalo!

Thank you! I love those boots, the shape and colour are just ideal for me! Nice collection of Docs, I like the nappa 1460’s, the leather looks great on them! Good shout with the mink oil, a pair of docs will last for years with the right care! I’m becoming a bit like that myself, wear mine everywhere too! Got a pair of old beat up Newtons that are just so comfortable I can’t part with them. Thanks again for your comment.

How are your 1460 Vintage boots now? Are they worth the overpayment or is it worth considering buying a regular 1460 model?

If I'm not mistaken the Made in UK ones have antique metal eyelets.

@@darkcggaming Touché. The MIE 1460 do, indeed, have black eyelets. Thanks.

Are these vintage boots exactly like the docs used to be before? I mean is the quality the same as before they went to Asia? If so it would be a good choice, because I'm thinking about buying some for a while. I also thought about solovair, but I prefere the look of docs. The vintage are a little more expensive but I would be fine with paying little more for better quality plus made in England.

No but solvairs are the same as the 90s before docs sold out

Can recommend the MIE basically the same as they used to be

How much did you pay for them? Great video BTW. I am buying a second hand pair that have been worn for 3 hours by the previous owner. Do you think I will be able to break them in for my feet or do you think they will have been already moulded for his feet? Great video BTW.
@treadinwithstyle19342 жыл бұрын
Thank you! I think I paid about £160ish for them, not sure as I bought them a while back. Got them from the Doc Marten website. Yeah you should be able to break them in for your feet no problem, 3hrs isn’t long enough to the previous owner to have broken them in at all, the leather will probably still be quite stiff. Mine took a wee while to break in fully for my feet. They’ll last you for years and look better with age. Hope you enjoy your boots and thanks again for your kind feedback 👍🏻

I find made In england docs run about a 1/4 small.
@Rainbow_colors28092 жыл бұрын
Oh really? I’ve already read that...like no need for insole ? (if basically with the “asian“ version you are in between 2 sizes and you need to size up and add an insole).
@josephfriedrich97922 жыл бұрын
@@Rainbow_colors2809 I always get my docs tight/snug fit... And deal with the temporary pain, and have them break in mysize, instead of temporary comfort, then too loose of a shoe. Cause after they are broken in, they are "proper fitting" not too tight, not too loose, pretty much molded to your food(obviously cause the leather and its shapped to your foot.) When they are too tight, I try to keep the insole in there, and either dress sock and normal thickness ankle sock doubled up, for a few days to a week. Then it's normally stretched out enough and still have the insole.

why does the lether rub down? I'm so curious about it. Thanks for the video

Because the color is just put on the outside (im guessing sprayed) instead of being dyed fully through

Sadly the "Made In England" is a premium price marketing con. Still has the newer welt unlike Solovairs and the Chinese soul. All you really get with the premium price is a different box with a leaflet and a bag.

You should try solovair they are far superior than any dr martens even the made in England ones the leather is better and the soles don't ware out as quickly I will never go back
@fangsandfolklore87952 жыл бұрын
Superior for sure, but some people want the Docs style for fashion.

Solovair is better and fashionable as well.

It doesn't say the original because it's not the original, it's a lower quality version of it

English soles are harder wearing than Asian counterparts.
