@@Maru.mmm42 Yes on the pair (with a big split that even went diagonally). It is still holding absolutely fine. One pair (with a smaller split) I didn't put enough on, so that only lasted a couple of years. However I use them as work boots and leave them outside. Just put plenty of glue on 👍

Easier and better still, you could weld them back together using a hot knife or soldering iron.

Hello! Do you think this would work on a bigger tear? Someone stepped on the back of my docs today. They’re a newer set and I only got them this Janurary. The heel and about half of the sole have been separated from the main body, I know that’s a lot to ask of some glue but I’m low on options at the moment

I'll be honest, had the same thing happen to me, spent $80 at cobbler, didn't work. You need more than glue. Stitching got all popped on mine... to much effort to fix, just save the time and money and get another pair 2nd hand. -.. But about to try this repair on my 'sole split' in same spot as this video.

If they are “new new” you could use the warranty and get them repared or a new pair.

Hello, at 2:05 you say to wait 15 minutes after applying the glue but before clamping. Would the glue not dry after 15 minutes exposed to the air ? Also, how are your shoes doing now, is it holding well ? Thanks

It's the rubber. The rubber price went up and they started putting more plastics mix to make soal. The old ones on the 70s were best. All now sadly are not great soals.. Cost went up so greed profit has to be keapt so they cut back... Its sad but reality.. Most are getting double leather soals put on them..
