Well we know her parents are doctors. I feel like she's the typical rich, smart beautiful princess who was popular and gifted in everything. There was nothing she couldn't excel at or manipulate/bully her way through excelling at or get through with connections. Now she's in the real world with a real job and she's had her first experience of learning that the real world isn't like that and she's not the only smart talented person in the world and there are people immune to her manipulation. It's a common experience for young adults from wealthy backgrounds to learn

@Sharon Jensen I think the reason he treated Reznik differently is because she and Melendez share one very prevalent trait they're both arrogant. As Shaun's told Melendez, "being arrogant makes you a better surgeon", but in Morgan's case her arrogance cost her patient a limb. Maybe he was trying to show her that being arrogant doesn't work for her.

That and he manages to see Shaun annoying, irritating and someone who should totally hone their social skills, but Morgan? A lot of people hate this character (Dr. Morgan) But I really like her. This episode is the start of her development. The writers have a lot of potential in this character.
@makowako60356 жыл бұрын
@Sharon Jensen Yeah, that is why I like her character so much. She acts like a know-it-all and only cares about herself but honestly I think it is just a facade. She made a mistake now and like I stated in my original comment: I think she can grow from this point forward.
@makowako60356 жыл бұрын
@Sharon Jensen Oh believe me, I have met similar people too in my Life, and not only females. I am not authistic ( even though I share quite some similarites with autistics). But I have a speaking disorder: I stutter. I stutter since I was barely 6 years old so I know how it feels when people think you are lesser than them. I know how it feels to be treated as inferior but I worked hard and almost got rid of it. I will always stutter, it is something that will never go away but still, I am able to participate in conversations now. Like I mentioned I have met people who were like Reznick but I believe in a second chance. She is mean to Shaun but I think she will change from this point forward. If I were Shaun I would give her a second chance. Like I said in my original comment: the writers can do a lot with this character.
@makowako60356 жыл бұрын
@Sharon Jensen Indeed, if the writers handle her character with good, she will undergo an amazing development. And I agree that it is not always a person's fault. Like you said in your earlier comment: she thinks she is helping him. When I stuttered back in elementary school, both teachers and students completed my sentences because I was unable to say them without stuttering. They thought they helped me but they only made me feel worse about myself. Some things seem bad but were done with good intentions.

How about now? One of my favorites in the show. Since the first episodes she was in, she has stepped up so well! She has learned very quickly to "handle" Shaun and sometimes even seems to be the only one seeing Shaun an actual human being, communicating with him like he didn't have any disorders. Love how she sometimes is like supportive sister to Claire helping her to deal with her mom problems. Being only one noticing when something is bothering her and making effort to help her. She seems to be more compassionate now, but I still love to see her compete constantly with Dr Park :D Sometimes they seem like siblings too! And she has shown vulnerability. Many times. And empathy. I wish other doctor would finally start to see her as a friend. She seems to be really lonely.
