TRT does nothing for many users. I was 300 lbs and had no T. I lost 70 lbs, eat better, sleep better and exercise now. Problem resolved. HRT for women actually has a much lower impact.

@@FitOneswithVarun it is taken lightly because when done correctly it is beneficial for most people who truly need it. Chronically low testosterone levels have a negative impact on the body and mind. Also, those who push TRT are often ex-bodybuilders who see nothing but benefits because without it they can't maintain normal levels and they abused their body so much that TRT is like getting water injections compared to what they used to do.

@@user-pr7pd9wd5b that's a very board statement. The reality is testosterone levels have been falling at the population level and doctors are very bad at diagnosing low testosterone because they want to treat the numbers rather than the symptoms. If doctors had access to a magic pill that automatically makes you produce the exact amount of testosterone your body would make if you were metabolically healthy, without side effects, that would be wonderful. The problem is people are sicker sicker by the day and we are trying to save them by making the numbers match with what we believe represents metabolic health. Low testosterone is generally a sign that something is wrong with the patient's health. Doctors just don't know how to change that because they are trained to save you from the brink of death, instead of being trained to keep you healthy. So, all our solutions are done with blunt instruments, like testosterone injections.

Yep Dr Mike is wrong about side effects of TRT. Mine was pretty low at about 240... although I am now 50 years old. But I started on it about 2 years ago and my blood volume went up to the high range and so my blood pressure did too. I was told I could just donate blood and be fine. That is actually my main side effect. Everything else is pretty normal with my blood work.

At 48, I told my Dr office I felt "off" and listed why. The response was I had a stressful job and it was probably that. I should go deal with that but offered no assistance. They wouldn't even do blood work. WTF? Three years later I paid for a test and total was 72. I didn't know anything about free. Took them my results and got a different Dr who happened to be East Asian. We looked at whole health and he prescribed Clomid. As expected insurance would not pay so I went out of pocket on that. Two months later I was at 350. Well he was frustrated, after a couple of years, with that practice and left the area. I ended up being required to move to TRT as no one would prescribe clomid anymore. Saw an endo, went on, and haven't had any negatives after 4 years. I'm at 150/week, 600 total test now. Physically I can't tell any difference the two meds. Clomid has been used since the 70s. Why wouldn't they go off label and save my nuts.

If you don't need it due to hypogonadism, it's not TRT. It's a low cruise dose and in some cases a mini-cycle (like 250 mg). Also, there's a very big difference between the dose you'd get from an endocrinologist and what you'd get from a private TRT clinic. Endocrinologists will usually start people around 75 mg/week. It's rare to see anyone getting it from a private clinic on anything less than 125 mg. 125 mg is supraphysiological for the majority of the population, which is why you see men in their 40s on 125 mg with year-round 10% or sub-10% bodyfat and a lot of muscle that they'd never be able to achieve naturally.

I have to disagree with you Dave. The argument you’re making is a straw man. Do you evidence to suggest that the heart disease risk is elevated in those within the reference range and are treated with T for hypogonadism? Much of what you said in this video is “you can get this side effect”. I’n genuinely interested because it seems like you were primarily addressing people who are not hypogonadal. I mean, I could also say the same thing about any medication, but in general fixing the abnormal testosterone level is going to provide primarily benefit with little added risk if symptomatic and verifiably, clinically hypogonadal.

With enough hair on my back that I could make a wig for my head. People comment on libido. Well I can only speak for myself but when I was on anxiety medication in the past a side effect was low libido and honestly compared to not being on medication having low libido was actually quite nice. Mostly because I had the opposite problem. I’m not going to debate health benefits as I am not a medical professional, however I do as a man recommend that all inferiority complexes and mental health issues a man may have should be addressed before they think about taking stuff. I have never had any issues with how I feel as a man. My dad was a bear, that guy could have been wearing a ballerina outfit and look more manly than most men out there. Something people need to realize is TRT is not 1:1 natural testosterone. Lets say your best test sample is 700ng/dl (not bad) that is pretty peaked but it will fluctuate based on diet, sleep, leaness, age and activity. So are injecting to be at 700ng/dl consistently you are probably averaging abt 30%(made up number not a scientist) more testosterone even if your reading before was 700, and after was 700, this problem gets worse if you want to stay shredded because even for a healthy guy your test would be sub 300ng/dl but you are double what it should be because you are injecting it. Edit: context is you don't need your test to be at 700ng/dl with TRT to have the benefit of 700ng/dl so if you are readings are 900ng/dl for "optimization" you are probably about the equivalent of someone who naturally produces 1200-1300ng/dl which is more of a mini cycle.
