I started TRT at 39 years old. After a couple rounds of labs, I had a total level of 326 and free test at 2.7. Dosage has changed over time, and other things have been added. I take anastrozole as needed. My blood pressure has been fine..my hematocrit goes up occasionally but I notice symptoms of that before it becomes a serious problem and I go do a whole blood donation and and I'm fine. I now am on 220mg per week IM injection of testosterone. Doctor also has me on 10 weeks on 10 weeks off runs of 100mg/week IM injection of nandrolone decanoate. I also take sermorelin. Aside from obvious body composition changes and gym performance changes, the biggest positive for me is joint inflammation is next to zero. That is important to me because I have been diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis for 13 years. This has allowed me to continue being a competitive powerlifter into my 40s. My test levels.most recently were a total at about 1100 and free test at 25.4

My family doc also says "you're in normal range." She agreed to prescribe it if I insisted, but had that "don't come to me if you have any problems" look. So, I went to a non-hospital/pharma linked clinic and got blood work and body composition done. Had a fantastic talk with a CNP who went over every single line item and really got to know my issues. Started TRT right then and there...a few minutes after a numbing jab in the flank area, pellets went in and one week later, I'm feeling some good effects. Spontaneous erections are kinda nice to feel again and momma is worried I'll go beast mode on her...which just might happen! I'm 60 and in good shape but was feeling really run down, tired all the time, gut issues (still sorting that out) and just lost the drive. I'll be having a blood draw in five weeks to check levels of everything. Total cost to me for the tests and TRT, about $1k USD. Implantation of pellets typically twice a year for men. The mechanism could be an emotional response. Testosterone makes a lot of people more irritable, and it could be that we don't know what other emotional side effects exist. Vasospasm might be caused by it, and in people already sufficiently compromised it could be enough to induce a heart attack.

With all due respect, I disagree with the information regarding heart attack likelihood with TRT. The actual fact is that when you are on TRT, the testosterone has the tendency to create additional red blood cells which in turn raises your RBC count in blood tests. As the RBC increases it is also thickening your blood. As your red blood cells thicken it increases your probability to strokes and heart attacks. your heart has to work harder to push the blood through your body. It is extremely important to monitor your RBC during TRT. Do you want your heart to push syrup through your veins or push water per say.

I agree with Dr. Attia that sleep and body weight play a role in hormone levels, but, with all due respect to my colleague, I disagree that these are the primary causes of low testosterone. Since the advent of birth control, men are participating in sexual experiences, either real or simulated, far more than men were in the 70's. The testes are over worked and not able to recover. Women can have sex without deleterious effects to their hormones daily, but men cannot. Before birth control men had to be very careful even if they were married on how much sex they had. Sex even once a month was still a significant risk. That's why men were stronger and more lean in the past.

After a study in 2002, they found it was causing breast cancer, heart disease, stroke, and blood clots. Man does not know enough or understand how the human body works to do this sort of medicine. And now we have all these lost soles wanting to change from male or female sex to the opposite sex, they take drugs to change this but then discover it is killing them, some come off it and survive while others continue and die at a young age. I don't think it would do anything to your hair assuming you have a pretty full head of hair but that dose is very high. I take a new preloaded testosterone injectable called Xyosted that comes in 75 and 100 mgs and is injected subcutaneously (test Enanthate) 75 mgs a week. I injected on Sunday, went for bloodwork on Thursday and my T was at 756. I feel great when I work out and my libido goes through the roof. This new test according to my Dr. is supposed to not have the big post injection spike and stay level all week. My bloodwork was excellent with slightly elevated estrogen.

This guy is downplaying (or not even addressing at all) the effects of the blood getting thicker from the oil the testosterone comes in and the increase of red blood cells. Thats why guys on gear give blood regularly. Jillian, get another expert and discuss micro-dosing testosterone to avoid certain side effects and to minimize the peaks and valleys.

Body is always chasing homeostasis. So with almost anything exogenous the body will down regulate the internal process

Poor Peter, he simply doesn’t understand how electromagnetic waves i.e. visible and non-visible light entering through your eye, is a prime regulator of hormone production in the human body. Someday Peter might take a little time and study physics/quantum biology so he could understand how the process actually unfoldsand effectively help his clients regulate their body without exogenous supplements. It’s too bad that Jillian understands so little of the subject that she is having a hard time finding an “expert” to interview. Jillian, you need to call Jack Krause if you are interested in a dose of reality

He’s literally recognized as one of the world’s leading longevity dr’s lol. Pretty sure he knows more than you! 😂

You are correct…EMF and light waves make a difference. Turn your home light low and dim after the sun sets and don’t sleep next to electronic devices.

@@dbt2831 I didn’t say I know more than him. I said he doesn’t understand physics and he doesn’t. He has said it himself before. He’s asking the wrong question about testosterone. Everybody knows that the pituitary gland regulates pretty much all of the hormones but the question that very few people ask is what affects the pituitary gland? the answer is photons of light from the sun that travel unobstructed to the pituitary gland. If you mess this pathway up, then you are going to have dysregulation of your hormones. This can be done in many different ways, wearing sunglasses, non-native EMF exposure, blue light exposure from computer screens and phones and led lights. I personally don’t care if he is a well renowned longevity expert. The fact that he gave such a simplistic biochemical answer to a problem that is far more complex than the chemistry alone simply shows that he doesn’t understand the physics well enough to articulate how it affects and drives the biology. Every single cell in the human body has an electromagnetic emission and absorption spectrum and interacts with electromagnetic fields constantly. If you want to take longevity advice from someone that doesn’t understand how physics affects the biology then go right ahead.
