Milap's iconic Indian classical music concert series 'Music for the Mind & Soul' is now online with exclusive studio recordings made especially for you! Every week our concert will help you unwind, escape and lift up your spirits. Here we present music from the brilliant brother and sister duo, Dr. Rajeeb Chakraborty (Sarod) and Reena Chakraborty (Sitar) performing from 'On Air Theater' studios in Kolkata.
Rajeeb, one of India's finest sarod players, is a versatile musician and composer renowned for the deeply expressive nature of his performances. Trained in both Indian and Western classical music, he travels extensively around the world collaborating and performing across genre and style with ease.
Reena Shrivastava took up the Sitar at the age of five under the tutelage of her father and Guru Pt. Rabi Chakraborty, himself an eminent sarod player of the Maihar Gharana. She started performing at an early age and was noticed and blessed by none other than Pandit Ravishankar. Reena lives in Kolkata tours the world with her music.
Soumen Sarkar is a highly talented Tabla artists based in Kolkata and has performed extensively across India with many of India's top Indian classical musicians.
