Adding the words below in support to combat the false teaching of "supersessionism" which is the teaching of somehow the Church has replaced Israel as God's Chosen of old. A few words to those who try and twist Scripture to say that the Church or anyone/anything has replaced Israel as His Chosen. I see them use the Apostle Paul in Romans 9 to justify their stance, utterly twisting what Paul was saying in his attempts to comfort new believers that he later explains/expands on in Romans 11. They/You of course ignore chapter 11 entirely when doing this and it is a twisted doctrine of demons they/you teach/believe that says Israel has been replaced by anything or anyone. This teaching began in the very early church and was the fruit of some that are referred to as the "church fathers". Augustine of Hippo, (354-430), was one of the church fathers as they're known. He is revered as a great teacher but flawed by the circumstances of his day. He taught during the time of monarchies and rather than offend them he did not teach as those that came before him such as Clement, Ignatius, Irenaeus, Ephraim, Polycarp and many others. He's the first we see in history who downplayed and didn't truly teach the "Doctrine of Imminency" according to Scripture. I'd imagine those in the monarchy would not have liked to be told how the real and true King, our Lord and Savior, the Lord of Lords and King of kings could return at any moment. As a result for all the sound doctrine and his magnificent work against heresies Augustine has left behind in his writings, his lack of teaching on the "Doctrine of Imminency" has left a lasting impression on our faith. There is also another huge issue in that Augustine was a "supersessionist" as in he taught in his work the "City of God" that the Church had replaced Israel as the LORD's Chosen. This of course is not true, the Church has been grafted into the "rich root" of promise and has in no way replaced Israel as the apple of God's eye and His chosen people. The Apostle Paul has amazing teaching on this in his Epistle the Book of Romans chapters 9-11. Let me ask this one simple question, what nation was reformed in a single day just as prophesied in Isaiah 66:8 as well as by other of His prophets recorded in His Word? Something that's never happened before in history happened exactly as foretold by the prophets in 1948 with the reformation of the Nation of Israel in a single day. If you think that the LORD can change and renege on His Promises, what hope do you or any of us have? Yes they're blind right now and it is by His Design for His Glory, He even specifically tells us that more than once. He even goes on to tell us why, it is until the fullness of the gentiles have been brought in, to our benefit, to make Israel jealous and His Glory. Go back to His Word and re-evaluate this demonic idea you've been taught/came up with because as you're understanding and as you're using Scripture now is just wrong, damnably so. A few verses/passages taken out of context or with incorrect meaning does not make a sound doctrine/theology. If He doesn't have to honor His promises to the Patriarchs why do we believe in any promise He's made? Ask them/yourselves what the Apostle Paul had to say about the "rich root", "root of promise" we've been grafted into and what he specifically warned against since they/you seem to like his teaching but have not understood correctly or listened to fully. Romans 11:1 I ask, then, has God rejected His people? Absolutely not! 11:2 God has not rejected His people whom He foreknew. 11:7 What then? Israel did not find what it was looking for, but the elect did find it. The rest were hardened, as it is written, 11:8 God gave them a spirit of stupor, eyes that cannot see and ears that cannot hear, to this day. 11:9 And David says, Let their table become a snare and a trap, a pitfall and a retribution to them. 11:10 Let their eyes be darkened so that they cannot see, and their backs be bent continually. 11:11 I ask, then, have they stumbled so as to fall? Absolutely not! On the contrary, by their transgression, salvation has come to the Gentiles to make Israel jealous. 11:12 Now if their transgression brings riches for the world, and their failure riches for the Gentiles, how much more will their fullness bring! I'm not going to type out this entire chapter but I beg anyone who's been swayed by false teachings/replacement theology to go read Romans Chapter 11, (which I'm pretty sure comes after 9). It is all there for you from the Apostle Paul himself. It is very easy to take parts of Scripture and twist them to fit a lie or agenda. Remember even the 1st century believers were warned about false teachings and Jesus Himself warned of the same. I am not saying that those who teach "replacement theology" are false but they are very wrong in what they've said/teach. Read the entire Book of Romans or better yet the entire Bible as Israel is mentioned more than any other place in God's creation and it is not even close. If this helps just one who was swayed by what I can only call a doctrine of demons being taught by members of His Church it has been more than worth the time. God Bless and God Bless Israel...

Libra the seventh, and last of the summer months - that is, of the Asiatic churches is, Laodicea, that word, signifying, the just or righteous people, living, as you see, in the scales of justice. Libra, the balance of September, when the weather is neither hot nor cold, but lukewarm: for which Christ, who, like Christians, had no notion of justice, threatens to spew it out of his mouth.
