I live near Anaheim, a Catholic, steeped as much as I can from a distance with the culture of vineyard, bethel, global awakening, others. And as a clinical psychologist and worship leader, this interview just makes me weep from so many deep places it touches! We need mentorship and impartation in the catholic community, it’s suffering so intensely where theological opinions keep people from entering more fully into life in the Spirit... my heart was so grieved one morning when I experienced a visitation by Holy Spirit, inspired a song I put on KZbin called “Overshadow Me (Ruach)”, but I feel like the seeds of the Word in the catholic community are so much like the seeds on the bad soil, we don’t have the “green house” culture... please pray for us catholic brothers! Lord, make us one!

Bro Sean, when God is about to move He moves in the heart of men- like you! I've a Catholic friend who's in the same shoes. She started a house fellowship and they watch these videos together and just worship. We know Christ is coming back for His bride, not denominations and God is bringing us together with worship. After all, it's the height of fellowship and intimacy. Father Lord, we lift your church before you and just ask that you cleanse us and sanctify us so we can truly be vessels of honor, IJN we pray 🙏

I too was Catholic until recently and just to let you know - you do have a Catholic green house. There is a Charismatic movement within the Catholic church - look up and bring to your church a Catholic "Life in the Spirit" retreat. That is what we did. The Catholic charismatics hold weekly prayer meetings that are very powerful. The Holy Spirit is very much alive and active in the Catholic church. Shalom! God bless you! Pray for open doors.

@@Globalawakening1 Thank you for your love. I am a young adult, and painfully aware of the significant age gap in the Catholic Charismatic movement. There seems more than ever a deep need for a renewal (or revival) of the Renewal!

If you are a worship leader/songwriter you have to read Jeremys advice: "Stay on the course, don't ever lose the heart. Don't follow the road most travelled. Stay close to the lord. Keep in mind, what the heart of worship really is. There is so much distraction, so much pressure, that is weighing leaders down. And I've seen so many worship leaders all over that are burdened with so many agendas... and they're trying to be powerful, trying to bring breaktrough, all these different things. And I just go: just LOVE jesus. LOVE him so well. Adore him so well. You dont need to kill the worshipleader game, you dont need to kill the song game. If you love Jesus, if you make him your most precious and treasured posession, if you honor his presence and his activity in your midst, even if it costs you - you will be rewarded greatly with the most precious treasure that we have - his presence... Yeah, if you don't get sidetracked with anything else, I think you will create a well for nations to drink from!" And yes in fact Jeremys songs - drawn from that place - are a fountain nations can drink from. How do I know? Growing up and living in Germany, I've seen his songs touching hundreds and thousands of people in my country and I mean that literally. I thank the lord for mentors like Jeremy.

Jeremy when you lead, God moves among/in His people. I am so inspired by your worship leading!! May God continue to work through you for many, many years. I have been involved with a worship ( in the 80/90's) team and I learned what you are saying, we just worship and our worship leads the people into the presence of the Lord and we then just leave them there. You do that seemingly effortlessly.

Jeremy gave an amazing understanding of what God wants to happen in worship. And he is a compelling worship leader who has a deep passion for seeing worship be about the people and praising God. Not about the fame, hit songs, traveling the world to get rich. However, with his amazing beautiful voice and the way he sings with such passion, I'm not sure if his followers, including me, will stop longing to be fortunate enough to attend his services. The difference between worship leaders with a cool hit song and dance move and the ones who sing with passion and Holy Spirit and truth is like singing in darkness and light. I think people come to worship with so much on their mind, including me, work stress, life stress, depression, and God only knows what after this past year 2020, some of which are spilling over into 2021. We really need the Lord's disciples leading worship because it has to be something more than a cool song. We can pull up iTunes or KZbin and sing along. We're looking for someone with a passion for helping us forget about our problems for a moment, and see the passion and light shining off them then becoming jealous, and start praying and praising Jesus for his Love and repent and surrender our heart to him and lay down all those burdens on our shoulders. What an Amazing, loving feeling.

Thanks for the many nuggets of wisdom. I believe all that was shared are principles for all believers, not just for leaders with position and title. All believers are "leaders" by default as kings, priests, a peculiar people. Worship is something that can be from the moment you wake up and go to work, and all throughout the day!!!

Just discovered Jeremy's music a few weeks ago. I've been on this journey of God pruning and growing me as leader in ministry. God has for awhile been dealing with me on the responsibility of leaders to stick The Bible and teach the scriptures in context. To not sensationalize, but point people to open their Bibles and read His Word to grow and believe it. Not just wait on a pastor or leader, but learn about God for themselves and believe God can use them, too. It is my conviction as a leader. But I've been seeing a lot of people who wait on someone else to learn about God. It's concerning because there are many distractions frequently coming at us in society. I've been just continuing to check my heart and my level of distraction even with ministry tasks. Due to hurtful pruning, my heart is now so broken and hungry for Him! So in my journey for worship music I heard one song "Holy Ground" and I said THIS PERSON ISN'T LIKE THE OTHERS. HE'S DETACHED FROM THE CROWD. I could hear it....I could feel it. The saw Jeremy's name not having heard anything else and replayed that song many times. Now I'm on the song "Jesus" from The Prayer Room and have had that on repeat. So as I've just started to be intentional with honoring the Sabbath rest, I was like what can I do? Lol! I decided to find an interview of who Jeremy is to hopefully hear the sincerity of the Truth of God I Him. I hear it! He's speaking truth! And we're around the same age....lol! He looks so much younger here which is what people say often to me. But the secret to youthfulness is a not just genetics, but this freshness to desire being in the presence of God alone.

I am from South Africa. Small town close to Kruger national park. Me and my husband are worship leaders in our small church. These points that was highlighted, about prayer and mission movement as been on my heart since last year. We are a new congregation, and could only start prayer meetings this year. O man, what a blessing the Lord has been and also the missions are well away and growing. This interview has confirmed and touched so much in my heart. So grateful for the Holy Spirit moving in unity all over the world. I believe we are one of the green house hubs he was referring to.

This is so precious! Thank you for taking the time to ask these questions and have this discussion, first of all, and then to share it with us. This is a really important conversation, and I so appreciated the reverence and humility with which you both approached this discussion. I'm deeply grateful for what you both carry, the many things that I've received from you both, and the hunger with which you both continue to pursue Jesus and the kingdom of God. God is definitely beginning to move and accelerate things in worship again, even in this past month, and it's so vital that we stay fixed on Jesus and madly in love with Him as things pick up speed. Here's a rabbit trail for you, Randy: in the past few weeks, I've seen God moving powerfully in a fresh way in Catch the Fire Toronto, in Bethel, in a small worship group of about 30 people that I'm a part of in Minnesota, and I've even heard from my parents that things are stirring in worship in their normally-very-conservative CMA church. I'm sure he's moving powerfully in many, many more places, but that is just from the churches that I've personally been in touch with in the past few weeks. It's an exciting time to be on the earth and to be a lover of Jesus!

So much to say....I so agree with both these men of God. As much as Ive been allergic to "playing church" , ticking off attendance and going through the motions on a Sunday, I grieve when I get to church and its " Ra - ra hype, shout as loud as you can, hype up the people" with this hysterical, loud banging and clanging, repeating the song a million times effort..I just " check out "..cant deal! Is worship just about a line - up of songs? No. Its WORSHIP. Its revering the Lord , whether that means shouting loudly or softly adoring...Jesus , help us..to come back to the heart of WORSHIP... where we gather around his presence and hear the angels sing ..to sensitivity, to discern every precious thing He wants to do and say..to lay down "performance" and revel in the passion of our " FIRST LOVE"...Oh, my heart cries out for this.

I so understand your point, Amanda. Like Jeremy said, “There’s never been a time like this, where you can become famous and rich from leading worship.” Often, churches in the West can fall into a celebrity culture where we value stage-time or popularity just as much as we value the fruits of the Spirit. It’s dangerous territory because if we give into that attitude, we are exalting people to a place of idolatry. Or perhaps it’s the fame/popularity that we’re idolizing, and not the people. In any case, I agree that we must relax into Jesus, leaning away from seeking success, and leaning into the purity of His heart. There’s something Babylon-esque about fighting for a place, striving for more testimonies, over-working to generate higher numbers…all that work, all that hype, does nothing to welcome the presence of Jesus and nurture a pure Bride. Honestly, that’s a huge reason why we wanted to get this interview published right-away: you’ll hear us regularly proclaim an ANTI-HYPE message from the stage, so to hear Jeremy articulate the same idea from a different perspective is wonderful. May we partner with God in pursuing holiness, both personally and corporately; may we keep worship authentic, creative, and Godward in all things. Amen!

I wish I wish I wish I wish that we would include hymns as part of worship. Hymns tell us how good and great God is, and their complex melodies appeal not just to our emotions, but to our intellects, as well. There is a very rich history in them that the Church has pretty much turned away from. My wife and I struggle to find a place that has worship that is meaningful to us.

I have been a musician since I was thirteen. After my conversion, I found myself leaving Canada and sitting in Anaheim Vineyard. It was there that I had my first genuine encounters with the Holy Spirit. It changed me forever. If there was one thing that I learned it was that we must wait on Him. It is just that simple. So now after the years, I find that it is still the same. We have to rest in the vine and just let the sap flow. Format is the enemy of this I think. So when I was listening to your interview Randy/Jeremy, I heard scripture: "For better is one day IN Your courts than a thousand elsewhere. I would rather be a doorkeeper IN the house of my God than to dwell IN the tents of the wicked. " Ps. 84:10 IN the courts, IN the house. Its all about INtimacy. And "Who among us can dwell with (IN) a consuming fire?" Is. 33:14b We go INto the fire and become fire and out of that flows worship that is on fire. We stand IN the courts as gatekeepers IN the gates and burn and that wonderful, irresistible fire draws the lost IN. No need to accommodate the methods and strategies born in the tents of wickedness.

I desire to do good but the good I Desire to do, I do not do, the evil I desire not to do, this I keep on doing, Bill Johnson, Benny Hinn, Randy Clark, and all those like them, live in the power of the Beast, Paul said; our enemy is principalities and powers, and these Powers exist in the nature of creation, in the nature of Flesh, it is what the devil uses to deceive you, it is not the presence of God, simply power, energy and forces which dwell in the nature of creation, all things are power, you sense these because of the nature of the flesh, you speak worldly physical terms to express what you feel, this is not the Holy Spirit, it is a deception, it is not the presence of God, you taste it once it feels good, so you want to taste it again, so you seek to do so, and now you are seduced by the power of the Beast, one can desire to do good but it does not mean they live in the good, and it does not mean they produce it, this power takes you away from the Christ, it is not the power salvation, it is simply The Sensations of the life force of The flesh, salvation is the spirit of God, and this you find within you, they are still living the human spirit, they still live in human emotions, and it is what drives them to do what they do, there is much to be said about this deception in which they live, but this is not the right time or place, seek not the power of the Beast, and the life force that stimulates the flesh, this is not the Holy Spirit or the presence of God.

@John 319 yes you are right, because if someone writes a worship song why then do they make lots of money on it, why then do they not just give it to the church, because is it not godly inspired, does not god inspire those who worship him, because a worship song is for those who worship god, not for Fame and fortune. in the same why does a man make lots of money on writing a book about the word of God is it not too godly inspired, because if it is scripture why then do they make lots of money with it, and if it is but the word of man why then do they sell it at all.
