Dr S. Jaishankar in Namibia: India Now Seen as a "Responsible Partner" by Countries in Africa
India's External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar on Sunday arrived in Windhoek to further strengthen relations with Namibia. This will be the first visit by an Indian External Affairs Minister to the Republic of Namibia. During the visit, EAM will call on the top leadership of the country. Jaishankar's visit to Namibia adds to India's determined push to strengthen ties with countries in Africa. At a time when Africa gets caught in a global powerplay between the United States, China, Russia and European nations, India has come to be seen as a "responsible partner" by nations in the continent.

This is a fallacy. India has long been stretching aid and development programs in Africa but they never sought publicity for it. India has since it's inception from independence steadily been addressing its issues irrespective of its immense poverty and population issues that sadly African leaders especially the earlier dictators failed to do in their respective countries. Today those chickens of Indias earlier years have come home to roost and with liberalisation in 1991 has made India a economic super power. Modi has been bequeathed all this but has cleverly milked it to present such has been due to the short tenure of his premiership.
