Jesus is himself, the church builder. Unless Jesus built it, why bother?. And There can be only one church, because there is only one Jesus, one sacrifice for the remission of sins, and one Father who is the Father of us all, and the creator of Heaven and Earth and all that in them is. Trust God number one, and everything else will work out for you.

Like your friend Chris and his wife, my wife and I just yesterday went to confession after decades away, and now this Sunday morning are headed to mass to receive the Holy Eucharist in sanctified grace for the first time in our marriage. We are so grateful. Your words and your mission have been our companion through our conversion. Your arrow hit its target. Thank you. Thank you. Glory be to our Lord and our God Jesus Christ. ❤️

I wish there had been more takeaways from such a long presentation. I really want to be able to recognize scripture in every word of the mass and see step-by-step how it relates to the Passover, etc. Was hoping this presentation would give more scripture and less personal testimony (because come on, everyone who has heard anything by Hahn knows his story).

@tony you have made 0 arguments as to how the church does not uphold truth. You'll probably respond to this with some verse that you interpret differently than the Catholic Church and claim this is proof we do not hold the truth. It's just a game of "I'm right, you're wrong." You have no way of infallibly defining how sacred scripture should be interpreted. In fact, you don't even have a way of definitively proving what "scripture" is! Where exactly do you find a list of all books that aught to be in the Bible? It's not mentioned anywhere in scripture. Without a divinely appointed teaching office, you have 0 clue what books are or aren't inspired

And glory to man who must complete the second part of his salvation by his own righteous works. If the death of Christ alone cannot save, then it cannot save at all. If man's will and good works completes salvation, then salvation is ultimately dependent on man and not Christ. Study the Scriptures. Start with the book of John and read carefully.

They don't have to. When two baptized Christans are married, the church recognizes it as valid. So if they convert, at most the priest can give them a blessing like he blesses every married couple. As Catholics their Christian marriage is automatically a sacrament. And marriage is not a sacrament we can repeat unless one spouse dies. They are already sacramentally married Catholics.

Your comment is worthless because it doesn't take into consideration any of the facts! What the apostle WOULD tell you is that the concept of an on-going sacrifice for sin under the direction of a priest is foreign to biblical Christianity since, “There is no longer any offering for sin” - period, end of story (Heb 10:18). Christ asked that he be remembered, not that we reproduce his sacrifice. (CCC 1372). His redemptive work is finished, not continuing. He made every believer a priest, not a select few (1 Peter 2:5-9). Yet Catholicism teaches that under the guidance of a priest, “Christ daily offers himself upon our altars for our redemption...[and] wishes that there should be a continuation of the sacrifice” (Mediator Dei, 73 & 79). NO HE DOESN'T. And, Vatican II, “In the sacrifice of the Mass in fact, Christ offers himself for the salvation of the world” (Eucharisticum Mysterium, 3.,18). NO HE DOESN'T. And, “Christ has offered and continues to offer himself as a victim for our sins” (Pope Pius XII, “Quas Primas”). NO HE DOESN'T. And, “by the ministry of a priest, Christ offers himself under the forms of bread and wine” (Code of Canon Law, 899). NO HE DOESN'T. And, “The priest has power over the very body of Jesus Christ and makes it present upon our altars, offering him a victim pleasing to the Divine Majesty” (Pius XI, “Ad Catholici Sacerdotii”, 1935). NO HE DOESN'T. All of the above violate the bedrock principle that Christ does not NEED to “offer himself often” (Heb 9:25-6), nor does he offer sacrifice daily (Heb 7:27; Reason 12). His bloody, unspeakable act on the cross was coming to an end when he said, “it is finished”, but for the Catholic, nothing is finished, and must be endlessly repeated on Catholic altars worldwide 24/7. The Church Fathers DID NOT ALL preach Transubstantiation. Some preached the symbolic and metaphoric nature of it: “Elsewhere the Lord, in the Gospel according to John, brought this out by symbols, when He said: ‘Eat ye my flesh, and drink my blood,’ describing distinctly by metaphor the drinkable properties of faith and the promise, (Clement of Alexandria, 150-215 AD, The Instructor, 1:6) “And He blessed the wine, saying, ‘Take, drink: this is my blood’ - the blood of the vine. He figuratively calls the Word ‘shed for many, for the remission of sins’ - the holy stream of gladness.’” (Clement of Alexandria, 150-215 AD, The Instructor, 2:2) “…nor the bread by which he represents his own proper body, thus requiring in his very sacraments the ‘beggarly elements’ of the Creator,” (Tertullian, 155-220 AD, Against Marcion, 1:14). “For again, He gave Himself the symbols of His divine dispensation to His disciples, when He bade them make the likeness of His own Body… to give them bread to use as the symbol of His Body,” (Eusebius, 263-339 AD, Demonstratio Evangelica, 8:1)

Please Dr. Hahn slow it down so people can get the wisdom of what you are saying. You do understand this very well and so you tend to throw everything out all at once. I do understand it already but the speed of the explanation may be too fast for some to grasp. Maybe you can do the lessons in parts, and have tune into it bit by bit. It also becomes quite lengthy for one sitting. Just my stupid advice 🤪.

If God himself understands our separated brethren how much more us who knows the full message of God. We should all treat them with pity and compassion. Look at how God transformed many of you into effective apologists and defenders in the end Scott. How I pray that all protestants come into full communion with our Catholic faith. Doesn't matter if they hold on to a different name, may they still be Baptist, Adventist, etc but all agreeing with the pope. Having the eucharist celebrated in their churches. That would be awesome. Wow! Like a pastor hearing mass by a priest then after the mass he takes over and explains the priest's homily further just like a fusion of "protestant" and Catholic combined. That's possible right.

Although I am not Catholic or Protestant (because those descriptions are useless for a true believer), I do not see the difference in what Catholics believe regarding the Eucharist, or the Protestant view of Communion- being a big dividing line between the two groups on this topic. The reason is simply both groups are taking a pause from their busy schedules, and acknowledging that Jesus Christ became the substitutionary sacrifice, dying on a Cross, rising again- and we as believers want to honor and worship God through this act of the Eucharist/Communion. In other words, our motives as Believers in even participating at all in these acts of faith are our love and worship of Jesus Christ, and what he has done on our behalf. Do I personally believe that the saltine cracker and the grape juice turn into the actual physical flesh of Jesus Christ and the actual blood of Jesus Christ? I do not. If so, how many calories was it? Was it raw or cooked? Is the flesh and blood going through our digestive system, and being assimilated into nutrition? If we were to hire a surgeon to cut open a willing volunteer’s stomach after consuming the Eucharist, are we going to find “consumed flesh and blood”, or are we going to find the saltine cracker and grape juice? I believe we all know the answer to that question. Jesus used this metaphor to give a visual image of what was about to take place at Calvary, and a continual way of remembering this act in the future. “Do this in remembrance of me”. Why are we even doing this act of the Eucharist/Communion? In remembrance of Christ. Catholics seem to want to grab the physical interpretation of John 6: 53-58, but fail to acknowledge the verses in the same chapter before that: “ I am the bread of life. He who comes to me will never go hungry, and he who believes in me will never be thirsty. John 6:35 “ I tell you the truth, he who believes has everlasting life. I am the bread of life”. John 6:47-48 In other words, Jesus was symbolically saying that “believing in Him” was what will give you eternal life, it will give you food and drink forever. Eating his flesh and blood (saltine cracker and grape juice) will not give eternal life, that only “represents” the analogy of the Cross- The main issue at stake, is that you have to believe Jesus is the Messiah, the son of God, and He emphasizes this 4 times in the book of John alone!!! So, the Eucharist is completely taking out of context, but here again, everyone that is participating in the Eucharist, I am sure their hearts mean well. However, there is no physical flesh and blood being consumed- instead, we are affirming our faith and belief in Jesus’ death on the cross as payment for our sins. We do this "in remembrance of him" because we believe He is who He says He is.

@Questa Semplice Animazione I fully agree with you that intellectual belief or intellectual assent to Jesus is not what saves someone. Nor do I agree that praying a prayer (repeat after me), and sign on the bottom line does this either. I do not believe in the "easy peasy gospel" either. The belief that is taught in the New Testament both through Jesus' teachings and the other apostles have a much deeper meaning than just a superficial belief. I think we can both agree there. Where we start to part ways is in the true meaning of belief and that faith alone saves a person. The Biblical definition of belief is more, however, still "faith alone". Once again, I think we get stuck on phrases like “faith alone” (a super easy pathway into the kingdom), but that is not the meaning… it’s a combination of faith, belief, trust, surrender, yielding, giving up rights, repentance, exchanging unrighteousness for righteousness, one-time, permanent forgiveness- all in one moment. So, it’s not just “faith alone” or “simple belief”. It still has some depth to it, but not the Catholic “participation” in the salvation process, by trampling all over the blood of Christ, announcing, “Thank you for the sacrifice, Jesus- I will help you out, and finish the process”. I thought I remembered reading that Jesus said, “It is finished”. He did it all on our behalf. So, I believe that the Holy Spirit is our guide, (not an organization in Rome or guys in robes). I believe we have a relationship with our Heavenly Father, through Jesus Christ (who was reconciling the world back to Himself, not counting men’s sins against them). Jesus very clearly unfolded the purpose of His ministry by going around with a simple command, “Follow me”. In other words, believe in my teachings, and who I say that I am, and believe, and have faith in what I came to do (forgive and restore life back to all of us who had died spiritually), and you will cross over from darkness to light. I will be glad to discuss any theology topic you have, but the Gospel, and how we enter (and stay) in a relationship with God is through Faith in Christ’s finished work on the Cross. No Mary, no pope, no priests, no penance, no infant baptism, no hail Mary’s, no our fathers, no rosary, no confession to a priest, no sacraments, no props, no statues, no repetition, no fatiguing list of requirements - Eternal life can only be found in simple faith through Jesus Christ. Sacraments are a manmade invention, and are not specifically addressed in the Bible as "keep these 7 sacraments or you are in big trouble". This is substantiated by these verses and many more: “For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith- and this not from your selves, it is the gift of God, not by works” Epesians2: 8 “Know that a man is not justified ( made right in God’s eyes) by observing the law, but by faith in Jesus Christ, So we, too, have put our faith in Christ Jesus that we may be justified by faith in Christ and not by observing the law, because by observing the law no one will be justified. Galatians 6:16 “These things I have written to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, in order that you may know that you have eternal life”. 1John 5:13 “For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only son that whosoever shall believe in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life. For God did not send His son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through Him. John 3:16-17 “But as many as has received Him, to them he gave the right to become children of God, even to those who believe on His name”. 1 John 1:12 “That if you confess with your mouth,’ Jesus is Lord’, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are made right in God’s eyes, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved”. Romans 10:9 “For, everyone who calls on the name of the Lord Jesus Christ will be saved”. Romans 10:13 “Whoever believes in God’s son has eternal life, but whoever rejects His son will not see life”. John 3:36 “All the prophets testify about him that everyone who believes in him receives forgiveness of sins through his name” Acts 10:43 And you also were included in Christ when you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation. Having believed, you were marked in him with a seal, the promised Holy Spirit, who is a deposit guaranteeing our inheritance until the redemption of those who are God's possession-to the praise of his glory”. Ephesians1: 7-14 “Christ is the end of the Law so that there may be righteousness (holiness) for everyone who believes” Romans 10: 4 “But now a righteousness from God, apart from the law, has been made known, to which the law and the Prophets testify. This righteousness (holiness) from God comes through faith in Jesus Christ to all who believe”. Romans 3:21-22 Jesus said, “I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in me will live, even though he dies; and whoever lives and believes in me will never die. Do you believe this”? John 11:23

@Questa Semplice Animazione It is very easy to be a puppet or robot of the Catholic church by just repeating the same old phrases everyone else does. Just using the Latin term "Sola Scriptura" instead of our English "by scripture alone" shows the parroting. Branching out and thinking for yourselves, instead of being enslaved by an institution whose roots are deeply grounded in verifiable corruption, will reveal things you never imagined. The corruption of the popes, the scandal of the priesthood, and many other topics will surely be astounding, if you have not done the research. Scripture, not interpreted by corrupt clergyman, and the Holy Spirit are our guides, not tradition, and not a corrupt church.

They put warning on cigarettes, yet it seems that every Catholic video should have a similar disclaimer, "Warning: Deadly apostate teaching may affect your standing with Christ on judgment day." Oh wait! The Catholic church is infallible. Let's not compare her doctrine with the words of Christ? I trow not! The gospel is so simple! Friendship with God broken by sin; friendship with God restored through the Cross. It is written, "This is eternal life, that you know God and Jesus Christ Whom He has sent." It is all about a genuine meeting with God! Conversely, to those condemned, Christ will say, "Depart from Me; I never knew you." Yet, Christ's teaching, "Ask and you shall receive" is much too simple for Catholics, They believe that, to know Christ, you must be baptized. They also believe that Christ is a piece of bread. I can understand the confusion, as Christ, referring to a loaf of bread, said, "This is my body." Yet, Christ also said that He is the great Shepherd, the chief cornerstone, and a vine. Nonetheless, I do not think God is angry if a person believes the wafer is the actual body of Christ. I can totally understand the confusion around the eucharist. What I cannot understand is the disgusting dishonesty I have experienced from every Catholic I have conversed with centered around the words of Christ. For example, Jesus said, "My Father will give the Holy Spirit to whoever asks of Him (Luke 11.13)." By asking, not by eating! That is, where the wheels fall off the wagon is the Catholic teaching that, to receive the Holy Spirit, you must partake of communion - thereby contradicting the words of Christ! When confronted with this contradiction to the words of eternal life, giving an estimate to percentages, I would say that 95% of Catholics simply turn away. They may read a post like this, but they place their trust, not in the Lord, but in the church leadership of Rome. However, Jesus said, "Shall the blind lead the blind? I tell you that both will fall into a ditch." Of the remaining 5% who contradict the Lord, I would say that 3% will present Bible verses that, supposedly, contradict Luke 11.13. That is, they present their Bible verses and say, "Why did you pick out that one verse? You have to look at the whole of the Bible." Well, practice what you preach! Look at Luke 11.13! What are you saying that it means? A sub-group within this category are those who claim that the church at Rome is infallible, again, placing trust in people rather than the Lord. Which leads me to the 1.99% who claim that 'asking' is the same thing as 'being baptized.' For example, I bring up Romans 10.13, "Whoever calls upon the Name of the Lord shall be saved." Notice it says 'call' not 'baptize' and you will be saved? Yet, the reply is that 'call' MEANS 'baptism!' Does that really work? Is it proper to say, "I thought of an old friend, so I thought I would give him a baptism (i.e. call)." Obviously, baptism is baptism and a call is a call. The last 0.01 percent is the one Catholic who, with blasphemous boldness, stated, "It is not true that whoever calls upon the Name of the Lord shall be saved." To her credit, she did not bob and weave, dodge, nor run! I just pray for her, that the Lord will help her - and all the other dishonest Catholics, literally hundreds, perhaps thousands, who have read my numerous posts, yet despised the words of Christ in favor of the Catholic heresy. I pray that God will cause Catholics to 'cling to what is true,' that they won't ignore the words of Christ, "My Father will (indeed!) give the Holy Spirit to whoever asks of Him." It is 'ask and you shall receive," not, "be sprinkled with water, eat a wafer, and you shall receive" I hope that people will trust in Christ's words and be saved! Jesus Christ is the light of the world.

But Dr. Scott Hahn whom I greatly respect; are Roman Catholics stuck on the forms of Christianity instead of the substance - i.e. the living out of your faith through the Word instead monotonous of canned rituals? After all, forms of Christianity or biblical truths are not virtues in themselves unless we act upon them as a lifestyle.

How Blasphemous. There is such a veil over your hearts on this issue. Jesus IS present in communion, but that doesn't mean He ACTUALLY BECOMES bread and wine... or rather, that the bread and wine somehow becomes Him.

Hahn the con-man must not be tolerated by any true Christian, for Catholicism is indeed, counterfeit Christianity. The concept of an on-going sacrifice for sin under the direction of a priest is foreign to biblical Christianity since, “There is no longer any offering for sin” - period, end of story (Heb 10:18). @Questa Semplice Animazione You are absolutely out of your mind. I proved, BY YOUR OWN CATHOLIC SOURCES, that Jesus CATEGORICALLY offers himself repeatedly on RC altars world-wide and THAT, oh thou fool, is utterly unbiblical. All you do is deny it. Not impressed! NORRRR does the Bible support your obnoxious claim that Jesus needs to "make present again" his sacrifice from 2000 years ago. the Bible says NO SUCH THING. It is the BENEFITS of that sacrifice that extend down through time, the merits of which are applied to all those who believe. But the actual SACRIFICE was accomplished ONCE and does not need to be redone, refurbished, reproduced or RE-PRESENTED by a priest or pope, neither of which offices the New Testament even HINTS at! I beg to differ. The Mass does not exist in Sacred Scripture. Christ's perfect sacrifice was once for all. "Every priest stands daily ministering and offering time after time the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins; but He, having offered one sacrifice for sins for all time, sat down at the right hand of God , waiting from that time onward until His enemies be made a footstool for His feet . For by one offering He has perfected for all time those who are sanctified." Hebrews 10:11‭-‬14 His perfect sacrifice is sufficient. "It is finished."

Is there some resource where Scott Hahn goes step by step through the Mass showing where each part is scriptural? That's what the title seemed to promise, but I've heard these stories before and would really like a close-reading Bible study of the MASS and not so much reminiscences and preaching about politics. I know he's American and they relate everything to their political situation, but it's not really about the scripture or the Mass. Interesting, but ad I say, the same stories are told many times online, very familiar by now, and scripture and the Mass would be more edifying at this point.

@John G. John, The ones who abandoned Jesus did not think it was a metaphor when they said the Following in: JOHN 6:52 52. The Jews then disputed among themselves, saying, “How can this man give us his flesh to eat?” But Jesus did NOT change His doctrine, continuing with greater emphasis to reassert His teaching: JOHN 6:53-55 53. So Jesus said to them, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of man and drink his blood, you have NO life in you; 54. he who eats my flesh and drinks my blood has Eternal life, and I will raise him up at the last day. 55. For my flesh is FOOD INDEED, and my blood is drink indeed. Jesus showed His Disciples how He would make it possible for them to "Eat His Flesh and drink His Blood" in: ▪︎LUKE 22:17-20 17. And when He had taken a cup and GIVEN THANKS (eucharistēsas in Greek), He said, “Take this and share it among yourselves; 18. for I say to you, I will not drink of the fruit of the vine from now on until the kingdom of God comes.” 19. And when He had taken some bread and given thanks, He broke it and gave it to them, saying, “THIS IS MY BODY which is given for you; *DO THIS in remembrance of Me.” 20. And in the same way He took the cup after they had eaten, saying, “This cup which is poured out for you IS THE NEW COVENANT IN MY BLOOD. And St. Paul further emphasizes his belief in: ▪︎1 CORINTHIANS 11:23-29 23. For I received from the Lord what I also handed on to you, that the Lord Jesus on the night when he was betrayed took a loaf of BREAD, 24. and when he had given thanks, he broke it and said, “THIS IS MY BODY that is for you. DO THIS in remembrance of me.” 25. In the same way he took THE CUP also, after supper, saying, “THIS CUP is the NEW COVENANT in MY BLOOD. DO THIS, as often as you drink it, in remembrance of me.” 26. For AS OFTEN as you eat this bread and drink the cup, YOU PROCLAIM THE LORD’s DEATH until he comes. 27. WHOEVER, therefore, eats the bread or drinks the cup of the Lord in an UNWORTHY MANNER will be answerable for the BODY and BLOOD of THE LORD. 28. Examine yourselves, and only then eat of the bread and drink of the cup. 29. For all who eat and drink WITHOUT DISCERNING THE BODY, eat and drink JUDGMENT AGAINST THEMSELVES. beyond the Apostles: ST. IGNATIUS OF ANTIOCH. In the early Church, 10 years after the Apostle John's death, one of his disciples, Ignatius the Bishop of Antioch, clearly believed in the Real Presence of Jesus in the Eucharist. He so states it in letters written around A.D. 107. ▪︎Letter to Smyrneans A.D. 107 "They [the Docetists, early Christological heretics] abstain from the Eucharist and from prayer because they do not confess that the EUCHARIST is the flesh of our Savior Jesus Christ, flesh which suffered for our sins and which that Father, in his goodness, raised up again. They who deny the gift of God are perishing in their disputes". ▪︎Letter to the Romans A.D. 110 "I have no taste for corruptible food nor for the pleasures of this life. I desire the bread of God, which is the FLESH OF JESUS CHRIST, who was of the seed of David; and FOR DRINK I desire HIS BLOOD, which is love incorruptible". Beginnings of Transubstantiation type of language in 145AD: ▪︎JUSTIN MARTYR. Christian apologist, born at Flavia Neapolis, about A.D 100, converted to Christianity about A.D. 130, taught and defended the Christian religion in Asia Minor and at Rome, where he suffered martyrdom about the year 165. ▪︎1st. Apology #66 A. D. 145 For not as common bread and common drink do we receive these; but in like manner as Jesus Christ our Savior, having been made flesh by the word of God, had both flesh and blood for our salvation, so likewise HAVE WE BEEN TAUGHT that the food which is blessed by the prayer of his word, and from which our blood and flesh by TRANSMUTATION (Early Church concept, later refined at Trent) are nourished, IS THE FLESH AND BLOOD OF that JESUS who was made flesh. For the apostles, in the memoirs composed by them, which are called Gospels, have thus delivered unto us what was enjoined upon them; that Jesus took bread, and when he had given thanks, said, “This do in remembrance of me, this is my body;” and that, after the same manner, having taken the cup and given thanks, he said, “This is my blood;” and gave it to them alone. May God bless your discernment.

Christ won't allow people to misunderstod ...how can the Good Shepherd not care to loose the same people whom he felt compassion for and fed miraculously which was to bolster them for what was coming.... The hard teaching made the crowds stopped following Christ and Christ uncharactistically didn't try to explain it better to the apostles as He did with hard parables....He turned to them to know if they too weren't cool with eating His Body and drinking His Blood....

However, the spirit clearly says that in later periods, some will depart from faithfulness as they are holding to devilish spirits and demonic doctrines in liars’ hypocrisy having cauterized their own conscience, preventing marrying/abstaining from foods which God created for participation in Eucharist by the truth acknowledging faithful. For all God’s creation is good and nothing is trash in Eucharist received for it is consecrated by God’s Word and prayer - 1Tim4:1-5 The foods that God created for participation in Eucharist are the body and blood of Christ. If you’re rejecting that the Eucharist is his body and blood you’re rejecting Marrying Christ in His body and blood let alone refusing to consummate that marriage.

hi Anthony Higgins, that’s your fallible and false interpretation of sacred scripture. Yes,Mary needed a Savior but Jesus freed his beautiful and Immaculate mum ahead of time. The sad thing is my friend is you read scripture you don’t see or absorb it. What did the archangel Gabriel say to her? Also how would you react if an angel appeared to you? I’ll wait for your answer before I more or less correct what you say. His Holiness St Pius IX,defines Mary as the Immaculate conception who are you to deny it. It’s one of four infallibly defined dogmas of Our Lady. Very sadly you prefer a man made cult to the mystical body of Christ on earth the holy Catholic Church. God bless. There is not one single place in the book of Revelation where Christ is offered (Eucharist). Where the Lamb appears, he is not given up as a sacrifice, but as one who prevailed and is worthy to open the seals. Scott want's to place the Mass as symbolism for the book of Revelation, and frankly it does not fit. The New Testament tells us that the Lamb was offered once and that is final. Heb 7:27 Who needeth not daily, as those high priests, to offer up sacrifice, first for his own sins, and then for the people's: for this he did once, when he offered up himself. Heb 9:12 he entered in once into the holy place, having obtained eternal redemption for us.

You are correct. Hahn-the-con is so full of baloney he could serve sandwiches at the Vatican. As I said elsewhere on here... The concept of an on-going sacrifice for sin under the direction of a priest is foreign to biblical Christianity since, “There is no longer any offering for sin” - period, end of story (Heb 10:18). Before anyone can really believe the "holy eucharist". First of all where does John 6 or any other scripture say that only a priest can do the mass. Lie #1. Where does John 6 or any other scripture say that the priest has the power to reach up into heaven and bring Christ down onto the altar? Lie #2. Where does scripture say the priest has more power than seraphim and cherubim? Lie #3. Where does scripture say that the priest has more power than the blessed virgin Mary? Lie #4. Where does John 6 or any scripture say that Jesus bows his head as he humbly obeys the commands of the priest? So to say that the CATHOLIC eucharist is scriptural is a lie of Satan.

An honest question man. Though keep in mind while divergent Rome is, there are many believers within it. Calling something a lie, even if true, makes a bold claim to an otherwise oblivious factor. I don’t think many Catholics question it. That doesn’t exclude salvation though. Thats an importsnt factor to consider. I used to think the mass was disgusting months ago. I still think its historically inaccurate…but think a out this. They BELIEVE its ACTUALLY Christ in the Eucharist. Dude, imagine that for a second. If i thought he was really there carnally like that…man id treat that with some MAJOR seriousness, as i believe much of Rome does. Heres what i think of John 6. John 6 - (Jn. 6:40) “For this is the will of My Father, that everyone who beholds the Son and believes in Him will have eternal life, and I Myself will raise him up on the last day.” (Jn. 6:54) “He who eats My flesh and drinks My blood has eternal life, and I will raise him up on the last day.” According to this parallel, beholding and believing (v.40) are equated with eating and drinking Christ’s flesh (v.54). This is further paralleled by verse 35: (Jn. 6:35) I am the bread of life; he who comes to Me will not hunger, and he who believes in Me will never thirst. (Jn. 6:54) “He who eats My flesh and drinks My blood has eternal life, and I will raise him up on the last day.” To “hunger” and “thirst” and parallel to the one who “eats” and “drinks.” But note what Jesus says satisfies our hunger: “He who comes to Me… he who believes in Me.” Jesus isn’t speaking about his literal flesh and blood any more than he is speaking about literal bread (Jn. 6:35) or literal water (Jn. 4:10-14). Indeed, Jesus uses the term sarx for his “body,” rather than the common term sōma (which was the common term used in the Lord’s Supper). Indeed, the “term ‘flesh’ is never used in the NT to refer to the Lord’s Supper.”[4] Hence, this seems “to caution against a sacramental or eucharistic understand of these verses.”[5] This is why Augustine of Hippo wrote regarding this passage: “Believe, and you have eaten.”

Furthermore, church history sheds light on the historical Eucharist not even 70 years after Christ resurrection. Didache 9.1 - (AD 100) Now, concerning the Eucharist, practice it as follows. " First, concerning the cup: We give thanks to you, our Father, for the holy vine of David your son, which you made known to us through Jesus your son, glory to you forever a Next, concerning the broken BREAD: We give thanks to you, our Father, for the life and knowledge which you made known to us through Jesus your son, glory to you forever. Just as this broken bread was being scattered over the mountains and being brought together it became one; likewise bring together your church from the ends of the earth into your kingdom, so that yours is the glory and the power through Jesus Christ forever But none shall eat or shall drink from your Eucharist but those baptized in the name of the Lord; for also concerning this the Lord has said, "Do give not what is holy to the dogs." - Notice, there’s never a transubstantiated description, but rather in action of giving thanks. Also, notice who can partake of the Eucharist. It’s not members of the church or members of Rome. It’s those who have put their faith in Christ alone. Unbelievers cannot partake.- The Didache (AD 100): “On the Lord’s day assemble and break bread and give thanks, having first confessed YOUR sins, that your sacrifice may be pure. If any have a dispute with his fellow, let him not come to the assembly till they be reconciled, that your sacrifice be not polluted. For this is the sacrifice spoken of by the Lord; ‘In every place and at every time offer to me a pure sacrifice; for I am a great king, said the Lord, and my name is wonderful among the Gentiles; (Mal. i. 11, 14).” This doesn’t refer to Jesus’ sacrifice, but to “your sacrifice.” The same Greek word for “sacrifice” (thusia) is used of Jesus’ sacrifice (Heb. 5:1), but it is also used of doing good deeds, praise, and financial giving (Heb. 13:15-16; Phil. 4:18). The same book also refers to the supper as the “cup” and the “bread,” and a means of remembering Jesus’ sacrifice in thanksgiving (Didache, 9). EARLY church Fathers were split. Irenaeus of Lyons (AD 180) stated that the elements do not lose the nature of bread and wine (Against Heresies, 4.18.4-5; 5.2.2). Tertullian (AD 200) said Jesus’ statement was figurative (Against Marcion, 3.19). Clement of Alexandria (AD 200) called the bread and wine symbols of Jesus’ body (The Instructor, I.6). Origen (AD 250) held his typical allegorical and spiritual view when referring to the elements in the Last Supper. Eusebius of Caesarea (AD 340) called the elements the body and blood of Christ, but also referred to them as symbolic of spiritual realities (On the Theology of the Church, 3.2.12). Augustine (AD 350) believed that John 6:53 should be understood spiritually and symbolically-not literalistically (On Christian Doctrine 3.16.2). Gelasius I (5th century pope): “The sacrament which we receive of the body and blood of Christ is a divine thing. Wherefore also by means of it we are made partakers of the divine nature. Yet the substance or nature of the bread and wine does not cease to be… Thus, as the elements pass into this, that is, the divine substance by the Holy Ghost, and none the less remain in their own proper nature.” BUT, scripture DOES say “this is my blood, this is my Body.” The action is remembrance but the label seems fairly literal. I would say its ok to think its really him so ling as we keep the centrality of the practice in view. The Eucharist IS the central practice of the church since the beginning. ONLY believers can partake. Non-believers cannot. Even more important is even believers MUST NOT partakers if they are living in willful unrepentant sin. To do so would cause great PHYSICAL harm to once self. 1 cor 11.

@Merry Bolton Bolton, Your reaction is the same as the unbelievers who refused to believe THE WORD, as He spoke directly to them in: JOHN 6:52 52. The Jews then disputed among themselves, saying, “How can this man give us his flesh to eat?” But Jesus did NOT change His doctrine, continuing with greater emphasis to reassert this teaching: JOHN 6:53-55 53. Do you want to know how we eat our Lord's body and drink his blood? The answer: ▪︎MARK 14:22-24 While they were eating, He TOOK some BREAD, and after a blessing He broke it, and gave it to them, and said, "Take it; THIS IS MY BODY." And when He had taken a CUP and given thanks, He gave it to them, and THEY all DRANK from it. And He said to them, "THIS IS MY BLOOD of the covenant, which is poured out for many. The word "symbol" does not appear. Bu St. Paul further emphasizes his belief: ▪︎1 CORINTHIANS 11:23-29 23. Key: "ANSWERABLE FOR THE BODY and BLOOD of THE LORD". If it was only a symbol it would not refer to Christ's Body and Blood. DEFINITION. Transubstantiation is the change that occurs in the sacrament of Holy Communion (Eucharist). Such change involves the whole substance of the bread and wine being turned miraculously into the whole substance of the body and blood of our Lord Jesus Christ himself. Even though the accidents (Bread and wine) remain the same. During the Mass when the Eucharistic elements, which are the bread and the wine being consecrated by the priest, are transformed into the actual body and blood of Jesus while keeping only the appearance of bread and wine. Transubstantiation was defined by our Church at the Council of Trent: "... By the consecration of the bread and wine there takes place a change of the whole substance of the bread into the substance of the body of Christ our Lord and of the whole substance of the wine into the substance of his blood. This change the holy Catholic Church has fittingly and properly called transubstantiation." (Session XIII, chapter IV). May God bless your discernment.
