It's amazing that even after being a vet for so long, you can still greet animals with an almost child-like sense of wonder. It really does show how passionate and sincere you are as a person (and your team too!). Chobham sure is lucky to have you, as are we.

For sure. Hopefully this baby finds a new home for the rest of his life. Its too bad the breeder couldnt take Benson back.
@SavoryCaroline2 ай бұрын
Yes, but if they truly can't take care of him it's for the best. Maybe they did all the research and really thought they could care for him, but when the rubber hit the road they just couldn't. Or, maybe their circumstances changed. For example, I know a young couple who adopted a puppy just before they were due to have a baby, but the birth turned out to be horribly difficult and both mother and baby were left permanently disabled. The father couldn't care for a puppy, a newborn, and a newly disabled spouse, so he had to rehome the puppy. Don't assume malice.

Believe it or not, a well-trained parrot can be taken out and let go to fly in trees in a park or forest, called back (recall), and trained to poo on cue so you can load them into a car without a bird poo accident. Parrots are just amazing!

On average a parrot will have live in 4 homes before they die. They are loud smart and with the right owner a blast to have. I have a blue and Gold as well and have had her for 20 years. She isn't very loud but lets you know when she want something. Will seek you out when the shower is running or if she thinks she is missing out. I would never have another but I would not give her up either.

Dr. Miller and the tech were so gentle. I was impressed with the care they gave Benson. As a reminder to make sure viewers don't get mislead and pet their parrots across the back like a cat or dog. It stimulates hormones which can cause serious health risks for female parrots by causing egg production which can lead to egg binding, and it can also cause aggression in both male and female parrots.

Benson is very young to have been given up for adoption. People need to be far more aware of the care and correct needs of birds of different species as they are not in the same category as dogs and cats as domestic pets.
