One of the producers and the writers on the show is the same person as did House MD. The Good Doctor came on after House ended. It's very difficult for me to see this actress in a hospital type drama as anyone but Lisa Cuddy.

Ignorant question, but is the actress playing Maddie Richard Schiff's real daughter? I can see some resemblance.

You'd think! Unfortuantely not but there is actually an episode whereby Schiff's daughter IS in The Good Doctor- Ruby Kelley plays Hannah in the final season, who was the same age as Maddie when she died. Shelia Kelley(who plays Debbie Wexler) is her mother and wife of Schiff, in which of course in The Good Doctor, Glassman and Debbie were married before they broke up!
