Dr. Strange Mezco One:12 Collective Marvel Action Figure Review

A little late, but the Mezco Dr. Strange is exactly what I was looking forward to in the One:12 Collective line. No masks, great head sculpt and paint, and cloth clothing, no clashing of two mediums trying to simulate the same thing. And besides a couple of nits, they totally nail it here.

A lot of other reviewers shown that but it's no surprise especially since Dr. strange's body mold is the same as all the Spidey figures but with the arms from the Star Trek and Joker figures.

Hey Robo, I've been noticing Mezco likes sneaking in hidden features, specifically glow in the dark paint apps that aren't advertised, like BvS Superman heat vision head glowing eyes, Joker stand, and Wonder Woman's bendy lasso (yeah that whole thing glows beautifully) point being while I don't have the good Dr, looks like they snuck glowing paint on the open eye amulet.

You made me go back and try it, haha. It doesn't seem to want to glow, I think it's just a lighter green paint.

@@TheFwoosh thanks for checking ,but keep an eye out for glowing features, they sneak them in but when they do it works really well, Wonder Woman' s lasso glows like in the movie, and angry Superman head looks like he's about to loose his shit and snap Zod' s neck!

Mine is in my pile of loot. Was thinking of canceling or reselling due to me needing to cut back on collecting and be more strict about what I get or take a break from it because my extra budget may hang in jeopardy within the next 4-6 months but I think I’ll keep him, he looks good. I wanted to use him being taller than Cap as a reason to meh it- but the outfit is too nice.

I think the shiny nose is because its get press by the top tray. Shf Han Solo has the same problem. Maybe heating it will help.

Yup. I saw someone with the same problem with their WW figure. Nose was smushed. Dude used warm/hot water and it popped out perfectly.

That's their company logo and mascot. They made a 9 inch figure in 2008. They mascot is name Gomez he's suppose to be a secret agent with a bug head.

Lol the elbow continues. You have a good eye. I didn't realise the advertised design and the sash are bit different. They should have given proper shoes instead of how it's done now. The single jointed elbow is really sad..it has been conveyed so many times to Mezco. I wished they'd pack a extra head..angry one...trying to use the spells. Oh yeah the smug on the nose is the plastic rubbing on it. I have that issue on old man logan.

Really love the look and feel of this figure yeah the elbows having a single jointed arms does suck plus I wish they could've gave 1 or 2 more heads with him like a closed eyes meditating look and and a shouting angry look like him shouting "I am sorcerer supreme!" That would've made this figure 100% for me but it's a solid figure non the less. Also Robo when you're gonna review the figure of yourself and include him with Gus in your reviews? Lol we need Robo figure to be reviewed

My Strange had that flat nose too...heard wonder woman had same problem. In facebook group, they told me to quickly dip in almost boiling water (just the end of the nose) and it will pop out and sure enough it did.

Agree this is the coolest Dr. Strange fig. available as blows away the SHFA IW Dr. Strange IMO. Unfortunately it's too tall & head is huge when compared to SHFA Marvel line fig.'s & Mezco does not produce enough other Marvel fig.'s that I'm interested in that would possibly scale OK with this one so no interest on my end in picking it up. If it was true 1:12 scale would have definitely purchased as the colors, cape, face sculpt & accessories all just mesh together nicely. Thanks for the review.

Yeah, same with the Mezco Hela as prototype pics appear to indicate it's prolly the best looking Hela available (excluding larger scale Hot Toys) but head size looks huge (proportions comparable to Dr. Strange) compared to true 1:12 scale fig.'s like SHFA & advertising materials says height is 5.9" but who knows if that's actual height of the fig. (based on other Mezco fig.'s seemingly taller height). I have not seen a review that shows actual measurement height of Dr. Strange to determine it aligns with the ad of 6.3" as from the comparison pics with other fig.'s it seems taller then that. Same with Marvel Legends as their movie fig.'s are not true 1:12 scale either (most are too tall such as the ML Hela).

I have this figure and I absolutely love it, but the cloak is poorly done in my opinion and looks sloppy. Also I’m not a fan of the blue magic effect because it looks like a water power lol. Oh and you’re putting the magic effects on the hands wrong, the hand is supposed to be up against the back of the magic effect and the “lightning effect” wraps around the forearm

The cloak kind of does it's own thing, but I love the way it looks. And yup, you're totally right, the effects do work much better wrapped around the forearm, haha.
