Katju was on the offensive right from the start while Swamy was very patient and respectful of Katju until Katju started harping on shit like "I know more law than you etc." instead of speaking something substantial. The moment I heard such stupid things from Katju, I realized that he didn't have a case this time. Swami clearly got the better of him. He kept asking Swami not to quote particular cases, but himself did the same by bringing the Nanavati case again and again during the entire debate. Such shameless hypocrisy!!

I have heard the arguments of both Katju and Swamy. Dr. Swamy had quoted the judgement of Supreme Court of India for pardon which is not applicable in Sanjay Dutts case. Being a judge and if he has appeared on a channel to justify the case should have quoted judgement. He does not need to carry with him the library. So Dr. Swamy discussed the law point and Katju had could not make out his case for pardon.

An eminent person like Justice Katju speaks from the exact and clear point of Law and Facts of the case. If you are questioning the Judgment of SC, then Mr. Katju is not going to answer the question, as he is not supposed to. A journalist and a politician can speak anything they like, and Mr. Subramanyam knows not even half law compared to Mr. Katju. That is the reason why Mr. Goswami concluded the interview. Mr. Katju is right, he is going by the Supreme Court's findings which is the highest court in the country.

I just was floored by the modesty that Dr. Swamy opens his debate by saluting before Justice Katju and quoting the Mahabharatha. Wow!! However highly learned and respected Mr. Katju can be, it cannot be even argued that his case was weak but actually was non-existent. Dr. Swamy has clearly said that the seeking of pardon is most appropriate in two occasions: when the victim directly or the kin of victim formally pardon the accused or when there is a 'public good' established. This is an absolutely dumb debate. Why? Let's understand this first, Swamy is an intelligent person, but when it comes to law he is a child in front of Katju. Katju has a very strong argument and is debating from a logical and dispassionate point of view. Katju is talking about a Pardon proceeding where the findings from the Supreme Court can be used. Swamy is attempting to retry the case in the public forum, which, with all due respect, is nonsensical. Therefore, this debate is dumb!
