Her protocol is far better than your regular neurologist would suggest, but she leaves out many parts of her recovery including low-dose antibiotics and electrical stimulation. The diet will help anyone, I wish she would disclose the entire protocol. Here's her case study www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC2769364/

Read the study. Minocycline, because it crosses the blood brain barrier. Underlying infection. That's a big caveat. Could have been a virus or long term infection. MS is being diagnosed as a cause when it's really the symptom of an infection/virus affecting the myelin sheath in a lot of cases. As a Dr., she's not allowed to prescribe long term antibiotics for MS, but she did for herself. Why'd she leave that out? People are dying unnecessarily.

You're right. How would antibiotics cure arthritis? Could be a co infection of lyme disease(or lyme) or some other type of infection that's disrupted a system. Whether it's immune,nervous system, or whatever. There's really only a few antibiotics that have anti-inflammatory properties and definitely none strong enough to keep arthritis in check or cure it. Something is causing that arthritis, infection. She's doing a good thing. But she's doing a disservice to those of us who suffered with a misdiagnosis of "MS" by not being completely forthcoming with her protocol. She can't. She'll be ostracized and be labeled a quack to say infection/virus may have been the cause, when they are the cause a lot of the time in many illnesses. Good luck getting prescribed antibiotics for MS, ALS, Parkinsons, arthritis, etc.. IV antibiotics got me walking again. I had to pay myself, find a fringe Dr states away, and become my own physician. It's not about me though. It's about the secondary progressive MS and other dying patients who could get their life back with the (possible) false hope that diet will cure them. It may help BUT if it was infection the whole time, like CPN or lyme(fastest growing infectious disease in the world now), antibiotics would have knocked it out before it damaged the brain. Minocycline is mentioned in the first paragraph under "case presentation".

Maybe. Antibiotics alone didn't get me better either. Multiple modalities were used including diet. My initial comment was why did she leave it out? She wasn't taking it cause it tasted good.

You never say about honey? Is that OK to substitute sugar with honey? Thank you.
@gaiasun8 жыл бұрын
It is my impression that the answer is no. No deliberate sugar (overt) found in cakes, candy, sweetening of coffee, etc. And I would say that also goes for chemical sweetners (equal, etc) due to the toxins. Perhaps stevia? Try researching stevia and look at the glycemic index.

I have a question for Dr. Walls. Isn't it true that produce that sits in boxes, then trucks, then more bless, then shelved, you get the idea, it's days old, is not as good as fresh frozen, or, is there really no such thing? I have advanced Myalgic Encephalomyelitis, or whatever the gov wants to call it now, I think it the flip side of the same coin as M.S., which doctors know about, but very few ever hear about ME. The USA doesn't even have an ICD code for it. Sorry, I'm tired,haha, (more like I'm minutes from death) and I digressed, to ask, aren't the frozen vegetables better. I'm so sick that I can't cook now. I eat veges cold right out of a can and high quality protein bars. Is this a realistic diet for someone like myself that doesn't/can't cook all that much? p.s. I'm in a WC also, can stand some in the kitchen but not that long.

She mentions she is in the "ketosis" phase of the diet. For all the good she has done in her research I think she is messing up long term health with a ketosis protocol. Most members of the paleo community eventually recognize significant problems with very low carb diets. You shut your thyroid down ramp up adrenals and run on stress hormones. The glucose deficiency causes dry eyes and skin, cognitive impairment, new food sensitivities. Her original protocol is likely too low in net carbohydrates minus dietary fiber. Getting at least 100 gms a day net carbs from whole fruits is easy way to improve her protocol. I bet making that requirement would eliminate most fatigue still showing up in the study patients.
