Questions we are all thinking about..
What does an archeologist with permission to work almost everywhere find on their digs?
The coolest story Dr. Forssman speaks about is" In a cave on top of the Lesotho mountain they found a shell with a little hole in it, so it must have been worn as a necklace, because of the layer of soil it as found in it date back to around 9000 years old, even more, wild is this would have come from the ocean 200km away.
We talk about the Bushman, the war, why history is important, where he does his work, and what his work does for humanity.
We explore the value of history in South Africa, and as a species, why should we learn about the past.
Dr. Forssman also goes into detail about the challenges an archeologist faces, the patience needed to find the artifacts, dealing with landowners, and truth-seeking by cross-referencing the documents with the accounts of people who are local to the area.
South Africa is rich in history and in stories and I truly loved sitting with Dr. Forssman and learning about his passion, if you want to see a part 2 comment below.
