from 1.5" to 3.5" cutting height

this thing is a beast and has been flawless in the 3 years I've had it. it clears a large yard super fast with very little effort.

Mine is the basic one, one or two pulls, its ready to go, I do Mountain Bike trails with mine, 6 years, I must have over 1,000 miles on it, in Michigan, 10 miles a few days, I have changed the oil, air filter, and just put a mowball on it, all easy to do, no problems,, these aren't just trails, plenty of rocks, hills, deadfall, it just goes right through it all, I've done it with a weed wacker, the DR makes it much easier on me, I'm in my late 70's, I have to save energy to ride the trails, I still ride a few thousand miles every year on the trails.. Happy Trails

Its a beast for sure. I recently got a all terrain mower by DR. Between the 2 you can clear stuff up fast. Thanks for watching

Just started using mine, but I am impressed that it always starts on the first pull. I'm only 43 but I'm in terrible physical condition. I have some sort of heart condition they can't identify and I have a hard time using a push mower for very long at a time. This thing is light and nimble and lets me get into nooks and crannies that were difficult with the mower, and it allows me to mow for longer at a time. Really glad I bought it.

I bought the premier model this year and love it! Doesn't have the electric start, which is fine with me, and it starts first pull everytime. As far as the whole "oil changes not required" gimmick, I disagree. It is really easy to just tip it on its side and drain out the oil, and refill it and good to go! I am a firm believer that you must change the oil every 25 hours or yearly, whichever comes first. Only takes 15 oz. of oil, so it doesn't break the bank and the motor will last a heck of a lot longer than not changing. I will eventually switch to synthetic oil. Don't fall for this gimmick slogan Briggs and Stratton came up with...you will regret it!

Mine isn't an electric start but you are right about it being a best. This thing can cut anything Missouri can grow which is a lot of jungle! I am disabled and can use it still.

I've owned mine for over a year but just used it for the first time today and man, what a beast! I've cleared a good section of my yard and the strings aren't even worn down yet. It also feels very light and easy to maneuver. Really helps that the handlebar is adjustable so I could raise it and use the machine comfortably! Most equipment has the handle set too low for me and isn't adjustable at all. Which makes me hunch-over while using it and kills my back.

Not changing the oil just means they've decided that you'll replace the mower sooner rather than later.

You're not kidding but it could be another EPA mandate. Maybe putting in a drain plug costs too much.

I was recently given a dr trimmer premier. Mine has the electric start but it doesnt work. Starts on the 1st or 2nd try every time. I may dig into the electric starter one day to see if its fixable or not. But the price on this baby was perfect and she cuts like a charm. Might spring for the quick change head, but for what i do the original mow ball head is working good so far

Just a small update. My battery for my electric start would not charge. Bought a 12.3 volt battery for $17 off of ebay. Bolted the battery and tray down to machine. Turned key and voila, motor started. Its a 6 year old machine, and the guy i got it from inherited from his dad. Not sure when the last time the motor was turned over via key start. But it fired right up. I am definitely pleased. So far i've invested in a new battery, new air filter and new pre filter. So i'm this machine for a little less than $30 :) (not counting gas and different sizes of trimmer line .155 and .175) will probably upgrade the trimmer head next. Love this machine!

I have a 875 Eli and it is a failure. Have had 2 previous units which were great. This unit does not like slopes side or vertical - smokes. The line change is a pain and my experience is the older system was better. Difficult to clean belt system and the plastic pulleys wear out. When it functions it's a beast, but reliability sucks. Looking for a replacement. Will never buy a B&S EXi engine again. These are dogs compared to old units or the good Japanese.

I'm about to use mine for the first time today. How long does a tank of gas last? How often do you need to top off the oil?
@craws_ak
@craws_ak 4 ай бұрын
It lasts a long time on a tank. I can easily do my decent size yard. And in the entire time I've owned it, it has only used a tiny amount of oil and 1 belt. Im still really happy with it and just getting ready to pull it out again for my alaskan brush

How do you keep the battery charged?
@craws_ak
@craws_ak 5 ай бұрын
It came with a battery charger. There's a pigtail type plug in halfway up the handle bars where it plugs in. I usually charge it at the beginning of spring and before winter. It lasts a long time because the starter is tiny and doesn't draw much power

Mine is a year old and can not use it because it shreds the belts. They have no service centers in my area. Their customer support is horrible. I can't understand why this problem with the belts. The adjuster for the belt is useless. Too tight or too loose that belt is shredded.
